As an 'old guy' it is great to see this, 'more complete' version of history taught. In the 1960s we were taught the 'nice' simple history. Washington and Jefferson were heroes and could do no wrong. America was destined to be what the then current powers that be wanted us to be, the saviour of the world and model for the future of all countries.. Life should be so simple, but we were young and believed what we were told.

No you weren't. That's the narrative they are pushing today: we only just discovered slavery, colonization, and the Indian Wars in 2012.

thank you for talking about native american people. to this day we still feel the pain of colonization and native genocide. it didn’t “end” till very recently.
