rent a car on holidays and hit up wales and scotland. the car rental places will think you're crazy but its f-ing amazing! some places have unltd mileage because people in the uk think driving a couple hours is too far anyways.when they hear you drive 5 hours they'll think you're going away for a month LOL

Hey!! Thank you for sharing this. it's super helpful. I live in Ontario as well. I have my undergraduate degree as well. I am really considering studying law in the UK BUT i hear a lot about not being able to get a career in Canada as a UK graduate. Do you have any information on that? Like do you now people in your personal life who studied in the UK and worked with their UK law degree in Canada? Any information would be appreciated.

Hey Hamza! I haven't really gone in detail about my personal life. But i was a licensed paralegal prior to going to law school. I worked down on bay street in a medium size firm and there are many lawyers that have completed their studies in the UK and coming back over. My firm alone had 2 lawyers that studied in the UK. I was originally afraid of that stigma as well, but after speaking to some of my colleagues and also industry leading lawyers, it's safe to say that UK law degrees are acceptable and are not seen as "inferior". Hope that helps!

Do you have to have a certain amount of money in your bank account to get the student visa? If yes, do you remember how much it was or if there was any other fee's involved in the whole process students should know about?

Hey Karlee! Thanks for the comment. I remember that the UK government will not grant you a visa unless you had at least 9 months worth of living expenses in your bank account. I think it's safe to say that you need at least 25-30k in your bank account in order to be granted the visa. There is no "concrete" amount. They never asked me for bank details either 🙄🙄 but that's what I was told. The only fees were UCAS, visa (most expensive one), accommodation, tuition, and flight ticket. Make sure you budget a few hundred for purchasing daily necessities like bedding, kitchen ware, toiletries, etc. Feel free to message me if you have any other questions !!

I recently applied through UCAS and it cost me abt 26 pounds so like 50ish dollars. I’m not sure but Canada law from abroad might have charged you more (not sure). I also applied to five law schools in the uk and I’m Canadian

Hi Tahira! You had me worried there for a second! i just double checked my invoice from last year and it was £26 pounds. So i guess after the exchange rate it's about 40-50ish depending on the credit card. So happy to hear that you're applying to the UK. If you're coming to Southampton, do keep in touch and Good luck to all your choices!

Are you doing this course after high school or bachelors !will it be accepted back home because in my country it's 5 years Course for ballb and in UK it's 3 years I've been told it won't be worth it so I am planning to come there for masters
@sharonchoww3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nixan! I'm doing this course after a bachelors and masters. Law school from UK is accepted in Canada, however, we have to go through the National Accreditation committee and write anywhere between 5-7 exams. However, i plan on obtaining my LLM from a Canadian institution and that should either lessen or completely omit the need to write any exams. If you are straight out of high school, you will need to do the 3 year LLB courses in the UK. However, if you have a bachelors, you can challenge and complete the accelerated LLB programs in UK which is only 2 years. Just make sure that your country accepts it and do your full due diligence.

Hii!! I wanted to know if you know of any llb uk degrees offered online?
@sharonchoww2 жыл бұрын
Hi Vanessa, University of Laws in London offers their law school online. However, you have to be weary as the NCA in Canada may not accept all the years online. Should you choose to do law school online, once completed, the NCA will request for you to sit in 1-2 years in person classes at home. Right now the NCA has only amended their requirements allowing 50% of the degree to be taken online due to the pandemic. This was a huge thing for a few of my friends as I know two of them doing it completely online. Best thing to do before even applying to the schools is try to get something in writing from the NCA on whether they will accept and what else you would need to do. The other school is University of Dundee which I have a friend attending. Hope this helps!!!
