I can’t believe I’ve landed on such a gem. Thank you so much for this video, it has helped me so much ❤. I’m a marketing graduate and I’m honestly thinking about going into psychology because I’m realising my passion for it. But was so confused about how to transition and the possible pathways. Thank you for taking the time to answer the questions and explaining it so well. ❤

@yash9801

I would say the nursing pathway is a lot easier to start working and more straightforward than psychology. Psychology takes 6 years of study and its very very competitive to get into a masters.

Hi, I have completed a bachelors in science and masters in applied psychology. I was thinking of applying for an assessment for my masters degree in psychology to further pursue post grad diploma in psychology in Australia. After completing this, What would be the best pathway to get the clinical registration?

Hey! I am an international student just starting my 4th yr at Deakin. I agree no one will care abt ur marks later if you have the skills and experience, but how abt to get into the 4th yr and masters? I believe marks do matter along with relevant experience for that purpose. What are your thoughts?
@yash9801
@yash9801 Жыл бұрын
Hey Aashi! That’s a really great point of clarification :) Marks do play a large part in getting into 4th year and Masters. It’s more once you have your qualification and a psychologist, no one will ask you what university you went to / what your grades were. That being said, you don’t always have to get insanely high marks to get into a programs! It’s definitely split between personal statement, interview and experience quite evenly :)

Hey Arunima! Thank you for your kind words :) If your undergrad was not APAC accredited (even if it was psychology) then you will have to do a Graduate Diploma in Psychology. After this then you have to apply for a 4th-year degree (e.g., honours, grad dip advanced, grad dip professional psychology) and then you will be able to practice clinically!

What happens then in Australia as said student hasnt studied 6 years psychology but has studied at undergraduate level and MSc Psychology?

Or is it possible for an international student?? I think dclinpsy is 4 yrs in Australia. Bt some of the countries only have 3 yrs. What should i do?? Or is it okay to do forensic psychology? Hii, thank you for such an informational videos!! I am currently doing my bachelor degree of psychology in Malaysia and I'm pretty interested to pursue master and if possible career as psychologist in Australia. Do you have any information about university with a more affordable/cheap side in terms of tuition fees? Cause I don't think I could get like scholarship to support my study 🥲 Also is there any opportunity to part time job/work you could do while you study? Thankss ^^
@yash9801
@yash9801 Жыл бұрын
Hi Giselle, I don't know what the most affordable university would be, so I would recommend giving different places a call/ looking at their sites. It might be worth asking about their payment plans which might make paying slightly easier. You could look at a regional/ rural university as the cost of living might be cheaper, but in turn, the uni may not have as much funding? There is the possibility to work but it depends on the person. I have consistently worked between 15-25 hours a week, depending on how many classes/clients I had in a week. I could make some content on how I live on a student budget if that would be helpful!

@@yash9801 Thank you so much for the reply. I've checked several website for the regional uni and some other with merit tuition reduction system which I think it's more achievable. Also do you mind if I ask about your current study? Because I'm also interested in pursuing educational psychology. Is it research-focused? or it's like focusing more on the practical work? Yes I would really appreciate if you would make the video about student budget and how much can you cover from part time work (if it's possible for international student) Sorry for the long reply, but thank you so much for all the informations you've given

When i did my research last year some Uni doesn't require an honour to enter the program, but the master's degree might be longer. I asked around and everyone had a different answer.🥲
