I'm an educated 24 year old man. I'm from punjab. My father do traditional green revolution (wheat rice) type farming. Lot of ground water is being used. Chemical pesticides and herbicides are used. I want to change it. Even other farmers want to change it but there is no price guarantee for other crops like mustard, vegetables, fruits, corn etc

I have one suggestion :- govt. Ko agricultural aur uski marketing me ek deploma course launch karna chahiye jo practical and theory basis par ho AUR uska centre tehsil area ki main mandi ho. Jaha unhe education di ja sake taki kishan better crop ki pedawaar kar sake aur unhe ache rates me bech sake. Aur is course ki qualification 8th pass ho aur course ease language me ho taki farmers aasani se relate kar paaye.

I don't know about other states but in my State rajasthan theirs is a lot of work done by both center and state in irrigation and fertilizers incentive ... Cold storage facility is very bad govt is also trying to improve on that ... Also due to centre providing road connectivity to villages agriculture products are now easily being transported to near by towns and tier 2 city's with very less crop wastage

We need to introduce micro farming as a compulsory full fledged subject in school. Whenever I listen HE Dalai Lama and someone asks him for a solution of any particular problem, He comes out with the word "Education" and insists very hard to introduce that sub in schools. . .

India can be superpower in agriculture when the allocated amount sanction by the central government reach farmars atleast 50%. It can be happen when agriculture is centralised. Okay, let's clear a few misconception that many Indians have: 1) The Indian agricultural sector will not help India to become a world power, what we require is Industries, expansion of Secondary sector and more workforce being diverted from primary to secondary sector. 2) Service and Secondary sector must be our number one priority, Farming sector in India is owned by a lot of Indian farmers who own small Lands. These farmers fail to earn enough money as their lands are less then 2 hectares. The solution to this problem is easy, just change business and leave farming. Yes, you heard it right, farmers need to give their small lands to bigger and wealthier farmers who can actually make good use of that land and increase production just like China and most importantly United States did, in India almost 1/3 is a farmer and if this is how we approach our development then expect bad results.

Government and educational institutions should promote Agriculture and Farming as important subject and also as important occupation just like engineering and Medicine for future generations. Farming should also consider as important profession just like others in which the workers should also get timely salaries and incentives. Farming job is no less than any job in any sector... 👍👍👍

Most crops are not profitable in India. People are abandoning agriculture. The Government is controlling prices of crops but increasing the cost of inputs. For example MNREGA pushed up labour prices extremely high.

Project...hope we learn from them & hydoponics/aquaponics & all need hugggge investment ie in crores..young generation living in cities, interested in agriculture, who can afford these things should go for it..also its high time sons & daughters of farmers learn to make products out of perishable goods(eg. making products like chocolates, ice cream, juice etc of export quality litchi of Bihar which is highly perishable..) so that the produce isn’t wasted!

Did you know? For growing 1 kg rice needed 5000 litres of water.
I think it is near to impossible for a country to become a superpower by agriculture in an highly industrialized age. India and China were superpowers in history because of their agriculture, but in the agricultural age. Nowadays, difficult. Especially if you look at the population of India and the land size of India.
