This 1000 year temple is the pride of TN. Built by the great Chola, it is magnificent, beautiful and impressive. We don’t see such grandeur in any new construction and natural beauty these old temples had across India. It just shows the architects and kings went to great length to put a masterpiece that is enjoyed by people for generations.

Thank for your video, Few things to say, Bruhadeshwara temple was named as Peruvodayar Kovil by Rajaraj Cholan later it was changed to Bruhadeishawara by Marathas Gopuram was covered with Gold dust which was looted by Muslim invaders. British stationed there troops at temple they have chiseled it on the temple wall with date on in and Daily pooja was not happening continuous at Bruhadeshwara temple. I visited this temple many times , such a wonder full temple , its shadow falls within the Gopuram so its not visible. Every must visit it and enjoy the beauty of the temple architecture. Rajendra cholan ruled south east asia also .
