Fractions Butterfly Method

For those who dont get it ⬇️ In multiplcation it's basic sol 1x4/4x3 and reduce the number if possible like in 4's table both 4 and 12 comes so it's reduced to 4x1 is 4 so we take the 1 and 4x3 is 12 so we take 3 hence 1/3 And in division u multiply 2x4 and 3x1 so u get 2x4= 8 and 3x1 3 hence 8/3 they didn't reciprocal but used this method instead that's why he do the simple multiplication in it without reciprocal In subtract u can see 2/1 and 3/5 u do the buterfly method for finding numerator multiply 2x5 and 3x1 u get 10 and 3 subtract them and hence u find the numerator and for denominator multiple the both denominator like in this fraction the denominator is 3 and 5 multiply them and u get 15 hence it's the denominator In addition do the same just add the thing instead of subtracting to find the numerator Hope it helps❤ if u can pin maybe does who dont know can see and understand, tho thank you for this method i was struggling in dividing fractions!

When you multiply the three and the one, you get three, which is your new denominator/bottom number. When you multiply 4 and 2, you get eight, which is your new numerator/top number.

When you divide fractions, you change the division sign to a times sign (x) then flip the right fraction, this is a reciprocal That’s why they multiplied and multiplied a numerator by a denominator it will be a numerator bc you flip and same for the other set

for those who cant decipher the dividing part, they're using KCF method (Keep-Change-Flip). so first u KEEP the number 2/3 and then CHANGE the operation to MULTIPLICATION and FLIP the 1/4. You get 2/3 and 4/1.. so 2/3 x 4/1 = 8/3 . Simplify that to 2 2/3. So your final answer is 2 2/3. They didn't simplify it because thats what they wanna do but if u are instructed to simplify it, PLEASE SIMPLIFY IT TO THE LOWEST TERM.

I think the reason why divide is like that is because he used keep switch flip method where you keep the first fraction and change it to multiplication and then flip the second fraction, after that you just multiply

2/3 is equivalent to 8/12. The second addend is equivalent to 3/12. Add the numerators and the denominator stays the same which results in the sum of 11/12.

I think it was wrong because, 4/12 first get the lowest term and devide 4÷12=3 so the numerator is 3 and copy the denominator which is 12 so the answer is 3/12.
