I bought a set of Atturo Trailblade MTs 33x12.5 and i absolutely love them. No bulging, no vibrating at any speed and they all balanced perfectly. For wheels i went with 20"x9" -1 (0) offset Fuel Mavericks and they're mounted on a 2008 GMC Sierra on 3.5 inches of lift. I've got roughly 8k miles on them with rotation every 3k and like i mentioned before ZERO issues at all. Couldn't be happier.

First mud tires I had were nitto mud grapplers and they were super loud. Then installed trail grapplers, very quiet. I recommend to anyone to buy trail grapplers. Great tread life and no flats ever. Screws and nails just get stuck in the lugs.

your right I have 35 12.50 20 mud grapps on one truck and same size trail grapps on the other,night and day difference.winner trail grappler from sure.
@supitzsammm7 жыл бұрын
I would never say Trail Grapplers were 'quiet'. Have ran both 33s and 35s and they're easily one of the loudest tires below the mud grappler. Amazing tire though and would recommend them to anyone simply because of the durability and SLOW tread wear.
@jeremygreiner68547 жыл бұрын
I had nitto mud grapplers, then trail grapplers. Mud grapplers were crazy loud, and handled no better in the mud than the trail grappler. Trail grapplers are the way to go. No where near as noisy. The Toyo MT flat out sucks. Yeah its quiet, but clogs up off road. Toyo MT doesn't even compare to the trail grappler off road. Also trail grapplers will last twice as long as the mall crawler toyo MT. You get what you pay for.

Hands down my favorite that has never failed me and got nearly 80k miles out of Firestone Destination MT's. Real world tested against popular name brands on other vehicles in the 4wheel club I was in they out performed both on rock and southern clay mud. To add another tidbit is most MT's are rated at speed rating of Q which means the compound will remain stable up to and slightly above 80 mph. They can overheat and start mushrooming the tread blocks.

HI guy,, this is my first post. I have been the owner of a tire company 32 years have designed some largeer truck tires in my day. The void area in the federal causes alot of wear ration issues. The tire with tightest tread patter and a big thing with the better quality is the bead area is recessed some beads are triangle some oblong some round. A huge thing with some tires is tread compound if you will notice with the two cheaper tires the rubber looks plastic due to less natural rubber . Natural rubber balances well !

We had a set of Toyo open country m/t on an 06 Silverado they were 35" and they lasted for a long long time with proper rotation but the traction in snow, mud, and even rain sucked. Now we have the trail graps on a '12 Silverado and they wear slowly as well and the traction is amazing. The nittios were well worth the money

I've been running Firestones M/T for 10,000 miles now and the tread looks brand new still and I do a lot of highway driving during he week. They are also quiet for M/T in my opinion. Side wall has plenty of bite and they have rim protection! Best part they are great in the mud and in other off road terrain. The only one I haven't had to try them in is snow and ice. Other reviews said they were fine though. I go fishing and hunting a lot in GA and NC on the weekends and have had no issues with uneven tread ware or alignment issues. 285-65-R18 height is actually 32.92 inches tall and the width is about 9 1/2 inches ride. They do have bigger though. I also found a set of four for 900 bucks!

i have 51k miles on my 35/1250r20 nitto trail grapplers on a 1500 lifted ram -- they are just now at the wear bares and need to be replaced -- but i was very surprised at how long they last with 5k mile rotations -- i also have balancing beads to balance the tire ( same as what semis use) and i think that is key to tire life and a smooth ride on a larger tire .. just my 2 cents -- thanks CO will buy my next set from you as well

Great review guys...I'm from Las Vegas, and we learn pretty quick to pay attention to tires and batteries in our extreme heat and desert environment...You basically just put the last nail in the coffin (expertly I might add) about tires...Along with Discoverer STT Pros, the Nitto and Toyo are THE tires of choice for those who off road routinely...Of those, I continually hear that STT Pros are the quiestest on road...One difference that's worth mentioning, is the Nitto MG in the 37x13.5xR17 are like Pitbulls in that they are actually 37.05 tall, so that's a good gain (.5 inch or more over most 37s).

@markcutbackdavis73674 жыл бұрын
I believe that it is the offset of the wheel pulling the truck right or left. This happens more on asphalt roads that have been warped over time and there is kind of a valleyed two-track in the road. I had fat street tires with an aggressive offset and they pulled on warped roads when the truck was not centered in the lane. I don't think it pulls just because of the heavy lugs. A zero offset would pull less to the outside.

as for the "out of balance" issue, maybe the front ends were not built up enough(replacing worn tie rods, bad joints) for the weigh of the wheel &tire combo?
@MrJcjet7 жыл бұрын
That and the entire suspension is wrong for these wheels/tires. The wheel bearing center is designed to match the tire center on OEM wheels. The wide wheels with low back spacing moves the center of effort way outside of the center of the wheel bearings. The result is that the steering will never be balanced. The bearings will wear out quickly. Steering parts will wear quickly, etc. The proper way to have a wider stance is to use a long travel kit to move the actual wheel mounting face outward by using longer control arms then use a wheel with appropriate backspacing. This is expensive and most people won't pay to do it the "right" way. If you wanted increase the outside tire width by say 4 inches per side and your new tires/wheels are 4 inches wider than stock, you should be using a "plus 2" long travel kit to move the wheel mounting surface out 2 inches, and then select wheels with the same offset (not back spacing) as the OEM wheels, and split the extra 4 inches of wheel/tire width on each side of the bearing center. Then it would track straight and you wouldn't have a vehicle that wants to dart left or right when it hits a pothole. But as I said - it's expensive to do it right. So most people don't. Heck most shops don't even know how to do it right or why. The problem is not the tires. It's the geometry. Mud tires can track perfectly straight. Just put them on the correct wheels for the vehicle.

Hey Guys, I watch your videos and love the packages you do on trucks. I am buying 2017 Ram 2500 bright silver color. I really like the Fuel Assault wheels and also like the Mavericks D538 wheels with that silver accent to compliment the truck. I plan to install 2-2.5" Pro Comp Lev kit on the front only and then go with 35x12.50R20 tires, I like the Nitto Ridge Gropplers for their quite ride on highway and aggressive look on the sides, truck will be used for running around town and towing travel trailer camping etc. So my question is, in order for me to clear the truck from all rubbing, what size wheels should I get? 20x9 with zero offset in either the assault or maverick? Or should I go for the -12 offset you mentioned couple times which will push the wheel out 1/2" or so, however I am worrying with the wheel being pushed out that it will rub against the under fender plastic and needs to be trimmed. Maybe you have other recommendations please shoot them over. I want to order the wheels one time and get the right fit from get go. Thank you so much.

Nittos got 60000 no rotation. Fyi I never rotate. Never never never. Only reason to rotate radials. Is if you are cornering aggressively, burnouts, or issues with front or rear alignment. Rebalancing is good. Don't believe me it's fine but I normally get more miles than most ppl I know.

one thing to add on the Toyo's: had a set on my f150, one trip to outer banks from ohio and the two back tires were practically bald! round trip is just over 1200 miles and i had them put on right before my trip. granted this trucks a dog and only get's driven to work and back. the wear on them in that amount of time just doesn't make sense to me.

Does anyone knows whether Atturo has fixed there balancing issues on there tires? I have heard that they have as of last year, but I didn’t know if they did or not. I am looking to purchase some trail blade xt in 285/55r20, but I’m curious whether I should or not? HELP!!!!

Custom Offsets do you guys have any issue balancing the Atturo trail blade xt tires now? What is the method that you guys use to balance these tires, bead bags or standard weights? Thanks

Could fender flares not also solve part of the problem for some of those flying rocks ?

I have a comment and a question. my comment is measuring the width of the tire should be when mounted and inflated! and I'm running thunderer mt's on my truck in 35x12.5r18 and was wondering if you've heard any good or bad about them and if the tires can cause a lose steering feel ive gotten my truck (2008 Toyota tundra double cab 6.5 foot bed) aligned 3 times due to the lose feeling steering done twice by mavis discount tire and my last one done by my local Toyota dealer. any input would be greal thank you!

Which tire would you recommend for a more quiet ride while still maintaining an aggressive look?
@pauldavis50916 жыл бұрын
I would recommend Hercules tires I have had the on my 2000 f150 and have gone to Indiana and back to Florida 2 times and to George and back to Florida once and drive on them every day haul trailers and still have about 35% tread I have just rotated them every 4k miles
