None. As a viewing experience the loss of colour and contrast compared to screen cap is not worth the extra FOV.

@@MikeOnTrack I agree with that a screen cap is better quality. But this style of video really captures what it's like to have an ultrawide. Scott did a video like this before, and that's what really pushed me over the line to get myself an ultrawide as well!

I love 49 inch over tripples that i had before. Simply because it costs me less to run gpu wise, less hassle all the time with settings and less hassle getting everything properly done.

Ultra wide is like min maxing effort vs results. Sure triples will be better than once set up but I like to jump into my sims as fast as possible. Booting a new sim is easier to configure with just an ultra wide and I don't have to worry about triple support or using Nvidia surround.

The G49 is just perfect for sim racing. I really love the bezel free, high quality, high fps/refresh rate view and a clean and reliable rig, while the latter is another huge advantage over triples.

I've got the Oled version.. it's class but it's on my desk not my rig. I've got the qled model on my rig, it never gets used as I race 100% on vr. Big screen beyond due this week to replace the aero. 😁

If you want to get a rough idea you can see your left mirror easily but it cuts a bit before the right window

Not sure if I've missed other videos from this POV, but if you're going to do an external cam shot this is the one. The previous one from the side skews the view of the racing too much. Great race too! Was cool to see Mr Ellis in there as well.

@jimhall5393 as a rule of thumb I try and ensure the steering wheel is the same size as my own and go from there.

This is a nice size of screen for those that don't want to go triples. Personally I run a 60" 4k 16:9 screen which has just about the same hFOV as a 49" ultrawide. 16:9 gives more vFOV though which is nice for a little more immersion.

The G9 is half of a 55 inch 16:9. The new 57 inch model is half of a 65 inch 16:9

Quick question? Why dont you use the windowed borderless mode. You have the white bar at the top and you can remove it quite easily.

I have issues running Racelabapps (overlays) when in borderless for some reason. My OBS doesn't like it and has a habit of crashing so I have to run the bordered mode. Probably my system telling me I need an upgrade but its ok I'm used to the bordered mode

I have a reverb G2, and a 49 inch G9. It's nothing like VR at least not the G2. VR is way more immersive.

Why dont you check the "render using 3 projections and enable SMP in the graphic settings? More fov at no fps cost. You can also play window mode without border so you can use the overlays

Man… I would love it if someone would make a true curved triple monitor replacement (1 monitor with a 180 degree or so curve). I recently went to VR, but was debating my options. I would have loved a triple setup, but ultimately the cost, space, and complexity turned me off. An ultra wide seemed like a cool option until I started researching how limited the fov is by comparison.

Have you tried just using a FOV calculator and leave it at the mathematically "correct" FOV?

@@stuffeyy I just run a mathematically correct FOV and leave it for every car. Changing FOV changes how the tracks look and changes the sense of speed which I find weird.

I prefer watching the open wheel racing - my only note would be to make the steering wheel invisible and angle the camera so it looks like the actual steering wheel on your rig looks like the car's steering wheel in iracing.

My setup is a Logitech trophy seat with the Logitech pro wheel and pedals, hf8 rumble pad from thrust master and the new value based shifter from thrust master . LOVE IT, the true force combined with the hf8 give me all the feedback I need. My monitor is 34 “ ultra wide from mono price , I feel like for the money it’s the Best setup

There is no right or wrong way to upgrade. Either will dramatically increase your experience and enjoyment in sim racing. If you are happy with your wheel & Pedals tho a wide screen would be a good way to go first.

96 in the super formula. It can rnage a little due to the different seating positions in other cars tho. I generally try to get the in game wheel 1:1 for size with my own as a rule of thumb
