When you do the shop tour, can you cover your choice of flooring too? Yours looks to be just the sort of thing that I'm looking for (I'm in the UK too). Thank you :)

garry smythe thanks! Antique white satin wood paint. Didn't have the space to spray it and it was so wet out side. Would preferred to spray it.

Another awesome project, thanks for sharing, do you mind telling me where you source your drawer runners from.
@StuffIMade

Simon Hopkins thanks!!! I get my runners from Iron Mongery Direct but I don't rate the soft close ones I used on this project. Other runners I have had from them have been good.

was it expensive I'm about to make a similar thing for my grand daughter but son wants it to "look like oak" same as their real oak furniture so I intend making it out of oak but thought about using a darker wood for the top

Very nice build. Random question regarding the roller you used for the paint because I'm literally about to do a paint job on my fireplace and was wondering what Cover that was and what nap it has? I used a cover with a 3/8" nap on a different MDF surface in my home and the finish came out a bit rougher than I would have liked. I think using a lower nap would help but all I've found is Wooster 1/8" nap rollers that are for oil based paints and I'm using a water based latex (Sherwin Williams ProClassic water based). Thanks and keep the videos coming. Really enjoy them, just went through all your videos after subscribing yesterday :)

Matt Przybylski I think I used dense foam rollers in the end, I started with a furry one. Sorry no idea on the specifics. I did get them from BandQ if that helps.

How do you precise cut with bosch table saw, its hard to make fence parallel to blade. And its flex with pressure.
@StuffIMade
@StuffIMade 7 жыл бұрын
Z3boy it doesn't flex as it grips at the rear But it's not the most accurate

Enjoyed watching this one :) just wondering what the pine is you used for the drawers, and where you picked it up? I'm having a hard time getting decent, clear pine here in the UK :(
@StuffIMade
@StuffIMade 7 жыл бұрын
Ryan Saunders thanks! I am sad to say I got the pine from BandQ. It's called Clay Mark clear pine I think. In some bandq's it's stored inside separated from the rest of the pine. Here is a link www.diy.com/departments/smooth-planed-timber-t19mm-w235mm-l1800mm/249690_BQ.prd

I love your videos and your methods, but I can see by the fact you use festoon tools, this must be how you earn your living. I am retired and are making items for friends and family at my expense, but I admired the walnut you used for the top, and I spotted Mann's product which I source from Wood direct. One question is where do you get your walnut and what kind of prices are you paying. Thanks Garry, Barnsley, UK

Hi Garry Smythe - I am a hobbyist woodworker, the purchase of my two Festool products was through a good few months of hard saving :) I got that walnut board from Clarks Wood in Bristol, i seem to recall the full board was around £80 to £100, not too bad! It was rough sawn, with no wainy edges or sap wood. Happy days! I find that Mann's varnish needs filtering as some of it has coagulated, other than that i like it.
