-----------
It was time to take another pass on the hair cutting robot. The new robot is bigger, better, way more reliable and travel friendly. I tried to cut MatPats hair (live) then my brothers hair and then my own. For some reason I'm compelled to improve the pattern carving functionality even though I have zero desire to actually use it....
One final thing - if you know of any actual problems that could use a better solution please leave a comment. One of my goals is to make a portion of my projects attempts at solving legitimately useful problems and I would love to have a good list of them. Thanks!

Tyson bit Holyfield's ear. You seemed to imply Ali was the culprit. Also, for cutting the fade... maybe if the machine was anchored to your head, sort of like a hat, head movement wouldn't be so bad?

Please make a computer case which can open up the ventilations according the the internal temperature/requirements. The market only has cases in which you have to compromise aiflow vs noise. It would be nice to have a case which can provide both. Ventilation when needed and noise dampening when needed.

I'd love to see a V3. Maybe analog radars would've been a good replacement for the limit switches. Maybe the radar echoes would've ignored the hair and just told you have close you are to the scalp. Not sure though. In industry, level radars in silos can filter out dust pretty well. For the sides and back: I have a trimmer that can move a guard up and down to adjust for length. I'd like to see that for the sides. It could use the same motions as a hair dresser for the sides and possibly use load cells (weight sensors) to tell you how many pounds of pressure the guard is putting on the scalp. You could aim for a range of 1oz to 4oz or something. Use 4 cells to make slight corrections in the angle/weight distribution. This kind of limits it to only shorter basic hair styles, but I think it's a decent compromise. Now that I think of it, you could overkill it with the load cells in every direction to make sure you aren't hurting your test subject. I might be getting carried away for a project that ended 8 months ago, but oh well.

A real solvable problem is making a helmet that can be worn by kids and adults who have cochlear implants. My nephew can't wear his helmet and hear at the same time which is very dangerous. The helmet rubs the magnetically connected sensors off his head every time he puts the helmet on. We need a helmet for him that has cut outs in the foam or some other solution to this problem. Please consider this, I really believe this could impact so many people in a positive way. I just want him to feel like the rest of the kids.

Interesting.. I wish I could help, but I'm only a high school student. I do have a few theories, maybe a sort of baseball type helmet with foam in a configuration that still cushions the head effectively but instead using the sides of the head as support. The side pieces could be adjustable with a band, maybe a knob in the back? They would fit over the ears like headphones and the cushions would support themselves higher on the head and somewhere on the jawline? I'm sorry I don't have the materials or the ability to design it.

Im referring to a motorcycle helmet - My nephew has cochlear implants, I just removed the foam sponges on both sides of helmet and it works for him, he wears both cochlear processors with the helmet on, i suppose it comes down to brand of helmet. as these pieces of sponge are removable and not glued down in any way. I myself wear hearing aids and removing the sponges also helped me.

First of all, I want to say that I love your channel! Now, a suggestion: how about starting with (what I believe) to be a simpler hairstyle? A fade. Also, It seems to me that that hair trimmer is going "perpendicular" to the head. But when you go to a hair stylist, the stylist will generally hold the trimmers at slight angle from the head. So not parallel, but semi-close to it. By putting a fade with a different angle of holding the trimmers, I think it would be much easier. I don't know where you live, but if you're anywhere within a 6 hour drive, I'm willing to volunteer for a haircut.

hey um I have a way to stay productive when really tired that sometimes works for me, if you make a list of how you come up with ideas you know like you process then go through the process you can get idea just by doing small steps of your process instead of trying to tackle a problem half asleep probably not even fully thinking about the problem. Though you are right taking a break and getting a fresh mind set is a really good way of doing it, just a lil trick I learned while working with fast deadlines.

you can do totally fine without nose. Many people don't breath through nose. So, in fact, sayng nose isn't for breathing is no totally incorrect. Engineers and scientists look to facts, and that is fact. And if you are refering to the video at minute 17:23, the "hole" he is talking about is the hole in the wood and not the nose hole at human head. SO, you just looked dumb with your comment. So, If you don't have anything to add as a constructive criticism, please stay quite. People like you are annoying and should be taken internet away! I'd say who needs a hole is you, so you can hide with your shame!

In the vet medical area animal prosthetics usually are just animal wheel chairs but what if you could make a non electronic inexpensive prosthetic leg for dogs and cats. If they were also able to be 3D printed with some sort of passive mechanism for movement/balance that would most likely be the best solution. Like how you used multiple layers of 3D printed plastic springs in you crossbow maybe you could implement that in the model ( and if the material has to be some sort of metro for the spring and main “bone” structure of the leg it would also have to be light weight whilst being able to hold the animals full weight plus even more due to inertia during jogging, sprinting motions and speeds, the foot of the prosthetic would also have to be flexible at the ankle joint to provide a sort of auto correcting system so the foot always lands flush to the ground, and the prostetic has to have some for of a pulley system and or force multiplication mechanic to account for missing areas of the limbs at different points such as the shoulder, knee, or even just ankle which could also lower the cost or increase the cost depending on how much of their leg they are missing. But anyway now I’m just rambling on and probably didn’t even cover half of the requirements it would have to meet but ima stop now since my comment is way to long..... if you read this all the way through then I’m so terribly sorry for wasting a few minutes of you life.

Or...how about a mechanism so that their heads can move, and the radiation continues to be pointed at the same location? Asking people to be stationary is not really possible. Of course, getting a device that is able to precisely aim the radiation at a moving target would be very challenging.
