It can really help to be surrounded by women who can relate to the challenges you’re going through. A sisterhood. Keep up the good work. Day by day

I often feel that way, too. The resistance never goes away, so we learn to expect it and even welcome it, and that's good. Then we get it done even if it seems insurmountable. You get stronger and need less validation from others to get moving. Instead, you become an inspiration to others who are watching.

So true. This is everything I hope to achieve. I know there are others like me who just need some inspiration while I attempt to inspire myself.

Good morning Shannon. I can relate to what you are talking about with being overwhelmed and then getting stuck. I am 63 and I have always been a go getter my whole life, but with age that has changed. I used to be great at multitasking. I swear I think the day I turned 60 that all changed. What I am getting to is that I have learned to slow down and live in the moment and concentrate on only one thing at a time. If I don’t do this I get overwhelmed and nothing gets done. It is a constant reminder to slow down, but the more you do it comes easier. I hope this helps.

Hello and good next morning! :) Yes, it does. Greatly. Just writing a list out was enough to slow my brain down, thankfully.

I call that stuck feeling "analysis paralysis" and it's like you get so overwhelmed with all the steps that it takes yo get something done AND you want to do it right so you're afraid to make a mistake so you just don't do anything at all. I totally sympathize with you!

Thank you. That is a great way of putting it!

I agree with you, I'm also not going to accept life is going to suck forever either. We'll reach our dreams if we keep trying and if we don't at least we tried :)

Exactly! I plan on forcing my dreams lol

I'm in Central Illinois. But born and raised in Calif. Came here to take care of my mom who had Alzheimer's. Illinois sucks. Been freezing cold!!!!

I'm so glad you made this video, Shannon. I thought we were here to support you and cheer you on, not rain on your parade because of negative things in our own lives. You are doing the best that you can, as are all of us. It's good that you're still keeping a positive attitude about things, even if you haven't yet accomplished what you intended. You'll get there. Having an unexpected and expensive car repair just adds another unwelcome obstacle. I saw a comment below about perimenopause. I was already in full menopause at your age and I still am 10 years later. It reeks havoc with your entire physical and mental well being. I know you don't like going to the doctor, but if you have (or can find) a good female GYN, they will understand what you're dealing with and they can prescribe you hormones that will help greatly. I don't know if you have health insurance, but if not and you don't know about it already, GoodRx makes most prescriptions affordable.

It's okay. There are just a lot of people who I *think* may not understand the full picture because they only know snippets of my story so far. And, that's okay. It was more of a pep talk to myself and maybe others my age who never figured life out that we still have time to do *some* of the dreams we still have floating around in our heads. After I am done sorting my mom out, my plan is to work on my medical needs next, as my budget allows anyway! Thank you again :)

Hi Shannon, That paralyzed feeling is stress. It is understandable the amount on your plate right now. I will give you a shameful example of my putting things off. I took both my nieces to Disneyland in 1992. I gathered lots of great scrapbook item momento's, took photos, and all. It's now 2025 and I still never completed it! I can relate to your predicaments of putting things off. I hope you can give yourself grace and know it will take time to get a good routine. I like your thoughts of writing things down. Sticky notes are really wonderful. Hugs to you.

Hi Patti. Thank you again. You and many others always help to put things into perspective for me and I so appreciate that. I've already started the list and even that makes me feel better. Every day I feel just a bit lighter with all of this. I hope it continues :)

We all start our channels for different reasons. I hope this format you're doing as a video journal will help you and I'm sure it will help others who are also experiencing similar issues. You'll get to where you want to go.

I am just like you. I get paralyzed when I have to gather information and talk on. the phone. Been like this for years! I love you. You are straggling.. But you will get through this. Its OK to take the time.

I’m going through perimenopause also. How long have you felt you’ve had ADHD? I’m asking cause the way you’re feeling could be due to perimenopause. I’m unable to focus and do the tasks I use to do, having anxiety issues & so much more. I enjoy your channel.😊
@mellokittyvibes4 күн бұрын
I've definitely had it my whole life. The symptoms became so debilitating once I started perimenopause that it triggered me to do some self assessing if that makes sense. Thank you so much for your comment. I hope we can help each other over time!

Have you ever been diagnosed or treated for depression?
@mellokittyvibes3 күн бұрын
No, but after I get things sorted out with my mom I am going to look into treatment for myself. Pretty excited about that actually.

Hi Shannon, you look really sad today. You’re dealing with a lot and that is heavy on your mind. My work mandated yearly physical. When you’re in the middle of something it feels overwhelming. When you get on the other side it will look so easy. We are extremely cold here too. Cars can be a 💕NonnaGrace 🐓.

I know something good will come out of all of this. I plan to see a physician very soon myself to start the process of getting myself in order. Thanks as always for your kind comments, NonnaGrace!
