You'll get better success if you cut a trench around all four sides of the tree whenever possible. I do that even with big excavators, the tree doesn't stand a chance if the roots are sheared off on all 4 sides

Thoroughly enjoyed and was surprised how much you could do with the little tractor. (I have a JD 4020, just about 1/4 bigger) But I'm wondering what that would do on my 75hp tractor? Is that too much tractor for the front hoe?
@RockhillfarmYT3 жыл бұрын
I can’t say for sure, but I think they are designed for anything in the compact tractor class. For John Deere that goes to the 4066 so you’ve got 66 hp rating there The frame is rated for 3000 pounds which is more than the 4066 can lift. I’m pretty sure it has a rated lift capacity of 2200 pounds which is of course different than the breakout force I have a lot of artillian products and I can tell you that the build quality from the welds to the materials used are all top-notch

Has the reduced roll back on the self leveling loader been an issue?
@RockhillfarmYT3 жыл бұрын
I just got the loader this week so my experience is limited. However I have done a variety of task with the grapple and moving some rock with the bucket and I really don’t see where it’s a problem I noticed it sometimes. It kind of surprises me like “why won’t come back” and then I remember, but I really don’t think it’s going to prevent me from doing anything or make any jobs harder. You should also factor in the safety portion of that because When the loader is at full height and you have it curled you can’t have anything roll out of the back of your bucket onto the hood or onto you. Between the increased lift capacity and how smooth The loader is with pallets I think it’s a definite upgrade
@kevinsbgb3 жыл бұрын
Okay. I have been thinking of upgrading to a self leveling loader for the increased lift capacity but I have to move lots of snow with my bucket and seems like I always have it rolled back all the so I can move more at once.
@RockhillfarmYT3 жыл бұрын
Within the next week I will be doing a full video review of the loader and try to demonstrate the curl back with a loaded bucket. I appreciate you watching

I can't understand why someone would bother with all the sub assembly required attachments for tractors. Much better to have a stand alone grapple, forks, or stump bucket. Easier to change and don't cost anymore especially if you get a skid steer type quick connect. I have most those implements and I wouldn't waste my time having to deal with a sub assembly required grapple. It's easy to lift a couple of handles and just drive back, line up your other implement and lock handles done. John Deere did finally offer skid steer quick connects on their newer tractors. About time.

Thanks for sharing your feedback. I agree with several things you said and could point out a few things you might not have thought about with the modular system and who it would work well for I have an independent Grapple on my vertical shelving system that I can just pick up and go if I want and I have this system. Same with pallet forks I have an independent pallet fork setup but I can put forks on this system There are some advantages to it. Not everyone has the space to build a racking system like I have for their attachments. This whole system can be put in a very small space. The same applies if you are going to a job and want to take several attachments. I can put this whole system in my truck bed with a bunch of other stuff in there. That allows me to have the bucket and 3 Point attachments on the tractor and multiple attachments in the truck bed all with a half ton truck and 18 foot trailer Whether you prefer the John Deere quick attach or the skid steer quick attach is really just a preference point. Most things that came off an actual skid steer will be too big for a tractor this size. If you were buying attachments that are designed for a tractor it does not cost more to have the John Deere or the skid steer attachment. Neither one really seems easier than the other to me. The only new tractors that John Deere is putting the skid steer Tatch on is the four series heavy duty and larger because those actually can easily handle skid steer attachments

Add some teeth to the front and that would be even more dynamite, nice video!
@RockhillfarmYT3 жыл бұрын
The front of the bucket does have teeth The fact that all the force from the loader is compressed on to a narrow spot in the front really helps with ripping out these little trees
@peacefieldfarm_mn3 жыл бұрын
Nice video work! The wet ground is helping with getting those trees loose and out. Do I need to get an Artillian fork frame, or will the stump bucket fit on any fork frame? Great job! Thanks for posting. Cheers!
@RockhillfarmYT3 жыл бұрын
Artillian has a modular system that the pallet fork frame also holds the grapple in the front hoe bucket and anything they make for the front of a tractor. It makes it cost effective if you have one attachment to add more attachments. The width between the ears on the attachments is the same as it is on my frontier forklift frame but it does not have the cut outs needed To secure their proprietary locking system
@MJF403 жыл бұрын
Could you show what you’re talking about? I thought their claim was Bias
@RockhillfarmYT3 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure what you’re referring to Mike. If you meanie artillian modular system, I have a Lot of videos demonstrating there attachment system. I weigh the different components and discuss how that affects their performance. If you’re talking about the self-leveling loader I also have a video demonstrating how it increases Lyft capacity
@MJF403 жыл бұрын
@@RockhillfarmYT why my forklift frame can’t be used or modified to work.
@RockhillfarmYT3 жыл бұрын
I believe that it could be modified to work. I think you would just have to cut notches in exactly the right places. For the bottom of the attachments to latch in the top of the attachment has to drop down into notches. Hypothetically if you cut those notches in the right place it would work. I’ve never done that so I can’t say for sure

@RockhillfarmYT2 жыл бұрын
The stump bucket shown in the video is $435. They have a newer larger version that is 600. I’ll be making a video on that as soon as the snow melts Those prices are for the stump buckets. The frame is something that you purchase separately and works for all of the products in the Artillian system

@@RockhillfarmYT That would be much appreciated. I have been looking to purchase an Artillian fork frame for the John Deere 3039R cab tractor I have on order. I wasn’t planning to order a grapple right now but when I estimated shipping, I almost fell over and don’t really want to pay that twice but can’t necessarily afford the grapple/rake/grapple setup I was planning to purchase down the road right now.

If you already have forks and a 3rd function, there is a company called "add a grapple" who sell the top grapple part to work in conjunction with your forks...you can do a single or double set up...starts around $650...really reasonable

I would never criticize you for what you decided to use to remove stumps because it’s none of my business, and frankly why would I care. I hope you do what works well for you Since you decided to criticize the way I’m doing it I would point out that simple physics tell you that the further removed you are from the loader the less breakout force you have It’s not conjecture or my opinion. A shorter attachment will do a better job than a longer attachment in terms of lifting force.. that’s a fact Also this stump bucket cost less than my pallet forks so I’m not sure how that is wasting money
