What's the increase on ground clearance with the 18 chunky tires? Very interested in a similar setup so that I can decrease the wheel well gap and increase front clearance. Thanks!

Unfortunately there's limited space to run a really tall tire on the Model 3. The upright is totally different on the Y so it allows you to do this. On the 3 however we have done several 18" setups for track and you can see a video here on that. Shoot us an email as well and we can share some pics with you. Are the tires out far enough to rub the curb first before the rims?

yes the 18" setup is but I wouldn't count on that to protect your wheel. The best form of protection is to be more careful when parallel parking or what not.

My worries is the tyre on 55 side would it rubb against the arm ?

not at all but always depends on the offset and width of your wheel. With the Aspiras that is not an issue at all in fact you have a lot of backspacing to play with.

your speedometer is going to be off, you're 1 inch up from factory size rims with the 18's. Personally, I would do 275-45-19 for a added cushioning . I'm planning on getting a model y next year and this is how I'd do it. 275-45-19 would only be .7 inches taller and .8 inches wider , giving added protection and cushiniong

Keep in mind that this is a YP with an OEM 275/35/21 in the rear versus a base model with a 255/45/19. In our previous video we show you the difference in OD. At 50mph it’s off by less than 2mph. At 100 3.6mph? Is that a concern? Doing at 275/45/19 only helps by 1mph at 100mph for “accuracy”.

@@jezza6575 I specialize in tires, it's 1 inch up from the 255-45-19 it should b 255-50-18 not 255-55-18
