This place is stunning, unfortunately I couldn't visit the Eagle's Nest. But I did a boat trip on the Konigsee and definitely worth it. Ich liebe dich, Deutschland :)

I went there with my parents more than 30 years ago. It was a bit unreal, as we first visited the museum at the Dachau concentration camp near Munich, which was a pretty depressing experience. The next day we were at the Eagle's Nest, so it felt weird. If you just focus on the place, it's absolutely exceptional. The ride up and the views are amazing. You can't quite get rid of the feeling that it was a property where one of history's worst human being spent some time, but the location remains incredible. Koenigsee is absolutely wonderful too, Gustav Mahler spent a lot of time there and wrote some of his best music at a house by the lake. Definitely a lot of history and art in that region (not to forget nearby Salzburg), in a wonderful natural setting.

My brother and I were there exactly two years ago. He served as a member of the ski patrol at the Berchtesgaden Recreational Area 52 years ago. He always wanted to return someday. He could see the Eagles Nest from the ski hill every day, but, of course, could never go up there until now. We really enjoyed our time there. Beautiful area, and we were able get excellent lodging just about five kilometers away.

I agree the area is stunning. How anybody would not love it there is beyond me. I visited from the USA in 2009 on my 60th birthday. I am the founder of the WWII Historical Re-enactment Society here. I relate my historical journey there and my life fascination with history in my book, A BRIDGE TO TIME, A Re-enactor's Journey. Several books in one it begins as I depart St. Louis as the British SOE plot to assassinate AH unfolds. It is a what if tale. I relate as a Baby-Boomer the influences the propelled me there. It also includes a brief travelogue and the final portion details how World War Two re-enacting came to be. I wanted so much to return when Covid hit as I knew so much more after researching my book. Sadly, I've yet to return.

Hi Lukas could you show us the place where 3 Roman Legions were killed plus any items from then that were found at the battle site, and is it possible to show us how the new entry / exit system works at airports in Germany I keep reading it could take 8 hours to do fingerprints and bio metric scan is this true ?

Not sure if you can translate the German words Idylle and Konzept directly into its English counterparts. They mean slightly different things in English and need a different context. Which is probably why it sounds strange, in the video, when you use these words in your chosen contexts.

Wow, such a beautiful country, But it is really sad that nowadays, because of these refugees and illegal immigrants who come from war-torn countries, Germany is seeing a lot of crimes. The Solingen incident is an example.
