Stunning Micro Wedding in Toronto | Aisling + Peter | Fuji XT3 + GH5 HLG

Aisling and Peter manged to squeeze in their micro wedding right before lockdown. It was a close call, but we're so happy we had the opportunity to film their day. We're a big fan of these smaller events. Their intimate, personal and give us a little more opportunity to direct without so much pressure of a rigid timeline. It's just a lovely, relaxed experience.
We also took the opportunity to diver deeper into our existing camera gear. 2020 has been a year of big releases, but with restricted income, we've made the decision to hold off making new purchases. Instead, we've decided to test more, experiment and push the technology we own, which is more than enough for making beautiful wedding films. We did have a Fuji XT4 for a while, but returned it. It has a beautiful image, but it's the same as the XT3. The ibis isn't good enough for reliable handheld use in a professional environment, so we keep finding ourselves picking up our trusty GH5s again. We find the XT3 is great on the gimbal with good enough af (with kit lens), and are totally happy with manual for handheld shots. Personally, I think this is a great combo, that is amazing value for money. We're shooting 10bit HLG, which makes matching colours very easy and gives us a nice, robust image to work with. For GH5 users - HLG is by far (in my opinion) the best mode to shoot in for accurate skin tones. Adjust contrast, WB, slap on a lut and you're good ;). 10 bit 60p HD on the GH5 is also excellent, and easily holds up on imac 5k monitor vs the 4k 60p from the XT3.
