I liked this ship so much more than the noisy ferry from Helsinki to Stockholm. It looks like it has quiet lounges for passengers to sit, read, chat with other travelers or post on Facebook. Thank you for this fine video.

Those ships actually have nice lounges too, it's all the way in the front of the ship, behind the stages in Starlight. It is quite small for the ship's size though.

I often use Fjordline from Bergen and all the way to Langesund and then drive to Oslo, more relaxing than to drive over the mountain. Takes a day longer, but I don't care. I love sailing around our fjords. I have been doing so much ferry, passenger boats and fast ferries around Norway now, so I have to list the few I haven't tried yet 😍

Norway is such a beautiful country. In 2018, my wife and I took a cruise from Southampton to Norway, calling at Stavanger, Olden, Flam and Bergen. From Stavanger, we took a mini-cruise up the Lysefjiord. We sailed past Pulpit Rock (a famous tourist attraction) that was used as a location for the film Mission Impossible: Fallout with Tom Cruise (filmed a month after our holiday, I believe).

It was interesting seeing you taking a break from train travelling and choosing to do a cruise review. I believe you should try it again! It was a nice choice since Norway is really beautiful! Another thing that i really liked is the inclusion of the prices in the various items and products aboard. It's useful information and i think you have to do that with the train 🚂 reviews too!!

If you are looking for unique ferry crossings; consider some RoRo-ferries also taking foot passengers. Dining with the truck drivers. For example Travemünde - Liepāja. High on my personal list is Ghent (Belgium) - Göteborg (Sweden), along the Dutch and Danish coast, and including trip in an inland canal.

Interestingly Fjord Line have just announced that they are going to be converting Stavangerfjord and Bergenfjord away from being exclusively LNG and instead combined LNG and Marine Oil. While greener, the price of LNG is too expensive and they are now losing money. The conversion process will take 4 months per ferry, starting in January and effectively the route is going to be closed down for the first 4 months of 2023 to accommodate this, and not back up to full capacity till June.

4:48 You sure about that route? Its weird for ships carrying passengers to sail outside the protection of the "skjærgård" (not sure about the English word, google translate only suggests "archipelago", but that's clearly wrong, the idea is reefs, islets and islands all breaking up the waves and blocking the wind etc so you have a mostly smooth sailing from the Norwegian-Russian border to the Finnish-Russian one, with only a few locations genuinely exposed to bad weather, waves, winds etc. Meaning fewer sea sick passengers. Also, there's more to see there.)
@NonstopEurotrip6 ай бұрын
Nope, not sure at all 😂
@Luredreier5 ай бұрын
9:01 Not exactly. Norway is *not* a part of the EU customs union. Furthermore Norwegian *national* sin taxes on alcohol is extremely high, any ship leaving Norwegian territorial waters can sell alcohol at lower prices then Norwegian alcohol if they're registered outside of Norway. You mentioned this ship being registered in Denmark. So they can charge Danish taxes instead of Norwegian ones... Significantly cheaper alcohol in other words. 16:12 You're supposed to buy a ticket before entering. Either on a phone or in a ticket machine or from a kiosk. Also apparently the heart vanishes if you edit out spelling errors etc...

> Fairly reasonable prices No, those are Danish crowns, not Norwegian ones. 25DKK is 2,88£, but 25NOK is 1.80£. It's about 50% more. There's a Kiwi grocery store right before you get to the terminal, you can stock up stuff you might want there. If you're going to Denmark, you can access the tax free which is a lot cheaper than the little kiosk.
