I completed this trail yesterday and it was the best hike I have ever done, I took tonnes of footage which I will be uploading to KZbin ASAP! Definitely for people who aren't afraid of heights and who have decent hiking experience, the views are stupendously beautiful!

On our recent trip to Switzerland we did this hike twice. I think your right and it might be the best hike in Switzerland. Great views, challenging and rewarded with a beer and fries at the end. Highly recommend except for those with fear of heights

Tanya as always loved the video. We did this hike in the summer of 2017 before the new funicular up to Stoos was available. One of our favorite all time hikes. I actually wish it was longer. On this day we came all the way from Wengen and back just to do this hike. Well worth it in my opinion 😂

@Swiss Family Fun! Tanya thanks for your great videos. If we take the lift up to Fronalpstock for the view and playground and get the motivation to do the ridge hike, whats it like walking the other direction? I havnt seen any Stoos ridge hikes the opposite way, but lots of folks in videos are coming from that way as well. I think we are fit enough to do the hike, but my knees dont love stairs... otherwise we would just commit and go the way you did in your video. Thoughts?

I was at Stoos/Fronalpstock last year. One thing I kept saying in my recorded phone vids was what I was seeing on my phone screen absolutely no way did justice to the beauty of what I was seeing with my own eyes.

Amazing hiking trail! Your website is very informative. Thank you for giving us useful information. I would like to ask is the day pass valid for Klingenstock and Fronalpstock lifts? And is it safe if I hike on my own there?

Yes, the day pass includes both lifts. I think this is a good choice for a solo hike because the path is well defined as well maintained and popular enough that you will see some people on the trail in case you need help. But if you are often hiking in Switzerland, you might also consider Rega insurance, which covers mountain rescue if necessary. It's very inexpensive (I think chf 35 for a year) and can save you hundreds to thousands if you need a helicopter rescue (I know two people who have had this experience). Hope you enjoy the hike!

Do you take the Stoos furnicular up and hike then take the chair lift down? Or the chair lift takes you straight to Stoos?

I think I went when my youngest was 6 or 7. If your children have some experience hiking and can do the distance, it should be fine.

Hi. Unfortunately there will still be snow on this trail in late April and the lifts won't be running yet for summer season. The earliest I've done this trail is late may and there was some snow patches still.

You can… however, it‘s recommended to start on Klingenstock since the path is sometimes rather narrow and it‘s safer when everybody hikes in the same direction.
