So far, in our almost 10 weeks in Norway, the weather has been very kind. As we arrive on Norway's second largest island, Senja, perhaps our luck is about to run out?
Still, come rain, hail or shine, we still want to get out and explore this beautiful part of Norway.
I just hope we can see where we are going :)

The reason that everybody live out on little Husøy instead of on the mainland of Senja has to do with the very steep terrain. In winter with a lot of snow there are something called avalanches. Where people live is often dictated by the nature and it's forces. Try to come back to Norway in winter (but be equipped for that ...specially Nordic winter tyres) with meter deep snow, blizzards blowing busses of the road or ripping the roof of houses ...of course.... with convoy driving over mountain passes ...if it isn't already blocked by snow fall/drift or avalanches. ....so the experience will be totally different. Forget about hiking ....well....unless you are into cross country skiing. There are video's on YT showing winter driving in Norway ...in blizzard conditions. For example one showing a Swedish semi-truck driver that got shocked by an ordinary blizzard on the northern coast (west of Alta). Foreign truck drivers don't understand nor are they equipped for winter conditions. Often does it end very bad.....

Yes we can imagine just how tough it would be even for a standard winter this far north … I think we will reserve our return trip to summer visits :)

Enjoying following your Cooke book 💕💞 Oh my, just a comment on the weather... I don't know if you understand how l u c k y you've been on your trip, weather wise, here in the Arctic. Last summer, most were lucky if they got days like the once you've had in Senja. Other than that it was mostly pouring down. Take that, maybe you have weather luck 🤔, you have to come every summer to check my thesis 😜 Nah, you're welcome to visit at any point, maybe winter or at least winter/spring to experience som Auroras? 🤔😉

Yes we have indeed been so fortunate .. the weather at times has been spectacular …. Best get those winter tyres for the van :)

Honestly not too sure … didn’t notice anything at the time … perhaps just a wave washing over a rock ?

@@TheTravellersCookeBookNo, you can clearly see it´s an animal. It´s a little bit left to the centre, close to the shore. Right beside a rock sticking out.

My guess would be an otter or a seal.
