Being as that most Mega Man robot characters are named after musical terms (Rock, Roll, Rush, Blues... etc.), it stands to reason that the name Bass likely has the musical pronunciation sounding like "base", as his wolf-like dog is named Treble. However, the voice actor for Mega Man in Mega Man 8 did not know this when reading lines for the opening cut-scene of the game... and pronounced "Bass" with the short "a" sound... like the fish.

Yeah and SO MANY people can't tell the difference!! Being that Keiji Inafune and the rest of the Production team called Megaman Rockman, there's no doubt that they were thinking of music and not fishing… 😒😒

My favorite Japanese exclusive has to be Macross Scrambled Valkirie, which proves the SNES/SFC could be a shmup beast, if handled correctly (although we did have some awesome shmups in the West, such as Axelay, Super Aleste and R-Type 3)

My favourite Japanese exclusive was definitely the super awesome 2D fighter Gundam Endless Duel. But yeah, Macross: Scrambled Valkyrie is pretty kickass too. I’m a fan of both STGs and fighters btw.

I think it had a fan translation pretty early on.. so maybe it's been playable in English since the late 90s or early 2000s? Ok... I looked it up, fully playable in English since Feb 2001.

Oh yeah, played SOM for hundreds of hours (max level characters were a grind) back when on original hardware and sunk hours into SD3 and was happy as a clam when Trials of Mana came to my platform (PC) since the 16 bit era ended. Although, I can't shake the feeling that SD3 on emulator is a lot harder than Trials of Mana, which wouldn't surprise me, Y'know modern gamer wimps and such :P

An awesome look into the would of what could have been. I actually though you missed Terranigma, only to realize it did actually make it over to Europe. It's only north America that sadly has never had the chance at it. Hopefully these gems continue to follow in the footsteps of Trials of Mana and we can see more future re-releases.

Yup. A lot of great translation patches have shown up on RomHacking (perfectly legal) in recent years. I never thought anyone would bother translating the Goemon games, but all the SNES / Super Famicom Goemon games were translated within the last few years. Since those have been translated I really can’t think of any other worthy Japanese games that need a translation.

I like doing the segment where you were talking about Mobile suit Gundam, with your British accent it sounds like you're saying, got damn. With your British accent, when you speak, you say every syllable within a two syllable word, instead of, just saying it as one word, you and your husband, do this, I'm just telling you, what I've noticed, it's not bad, I'm just giving out my two cents here.

I wanted to ask you something, do you feel that millennial, gen-zers and the other generations have an addiction to video games? I saw a documentary of this Australian kid who hasn’t been to school for 2 years because of his video games addiction. He even stole his mum’s credit card to buy games. That’s tragic. Also, there are guys in their late 30s gaming 4 to 6 hours a day. I’m not saying that I don’t like to game at all. I got a Lenovo Legion Go recently and installed a bunch of emulators to experiment, but I just game sometimes. I feel that people don’t realise that their health deteriorates and it holds them back from making progress in their life.
