Dubstep and EDM in genshin seem to be reserved for anything Abyss related. Both genres sound "out of this world" so i say they fit perfectly for a whale that came from the outside world

If you are such a fan of Yu-pen Chen, then maybe you will hear literally his own words about how well he thinks about the Hoyo-Mix composers and expects awesome themes from them because he knows that they are no worse than him.

Absolutely LOVE this song. The use of dubstep to make it give the impression of a whale sound and clicks like a narwhal/dolphin at least what I think of listening. The expectation of a drop only for it to drop offbeat is so cool (I love the sword analogy)

If I had to describe this track in one word, it would be "Apocalyptic." The first part sounds like the world is ending, and the second part is the sheer *wrongness* of the aftermath.

Lorewise, the whale isn’t even apart of the video game planet, unlike other bosses where you can clearly distinguish it’s cultural influence. That’s probably why it uses dubstep, a sound found basically nowhere else in the game.

@@RonneyK Because unless I am mistaken, that is what happened. Genshin's OST comes from the studio HOYO-MiX, and the main composer Yu-Peng Chen (陈致逸) left the company to work on his solo career. Most of Fontaine tracks were composed by Dimeng Yuan (苑迪萌) although I am not sure if this one is included too. Edit: Talking about the difference in composers, I am not going to enter the _one is better than the other_ debate.

Its title is "Visitor from the far side of the Sea of Stars." It comes from the primordial sea. Said to be the purest origin of all things. It is the "pet" of a mysteriouse person/being called surtalogi or "The Foul." 6:54 That is a being only know as "The Shadow" you fight it after being swallowed by the Whale.
