This project is just so pleasingly ‘excessive’. The design is ingenious and I love all the extra features above and beyond this just being a gorgeous toolbox!

The esthetics and functionality and craftwomanship of your toolbox are not from this planet. More like from Alpha Centauri. And the video and music and what not is as special as always. Love it.

I agree with the rest of the comments here. The hand tool woodworking is pretty amazing, but the mechanical aspect of ALL the moving parts is phenomenal. 2 thumbs up from an aspiring woodworker..

I am crest fallen. In my time on this planet I have prided myself on being able to watch a video of someone making somethin or seeing a few pictures of something made, and I would be able to make it. I mean I built a Sitar after having had one in my hands for about 15 minutes once. But you young being, have stumped me LOL. THANK you for that. I will be driving traffic your way my young friend.

Beautiful work! I will say that yes, a bit complicated perhaps but that's what makes your work YOU! Unique and amazing and that's why I watch but I must say, lazy? No way. I can't agree with you on that comment. Again, nice to see your amazing work. Shalom from Mesa, Arizona

Damn yer good. I happen to be the son of a carpenter, so i have plenty of judgmental experience. Having said that, and without comparisons, You get better and more skilled with every project. This tool box is really amazing. The design is astonishing and delicate. But this is not only woodworking. The mechanisms are really compact and well designed. Pretty neat! I love the way each of your tools finds its place inside the different compartments. Congratulations for this amazing job. Can't wait until last video!

I was absolutely delighted to see the notification of your video this morning. It was so nice to enjoy my morning coffee while watching your skill and creativity on display. Your work on this piece reminds me of the incredible work of H.O. Studley. Thank you for both the amazing work on your projects as well as the vast amount of care and effort involved in the videography and editing work. "I'm kind of lazy" - Ebenisterie, after spending a year building the worlds most complex toolbox. Incredible work! While everything you do is certainly way more complex than anything I will ever make, its still huge source of inspiration to me any time I consider taking the easy way in a project.

Outrageously over complicated and utterly delicious. I’d not be surprised if,you had the odd comment about jointery vs joinery, in my opinion, given the enormous margin your skills eclipse mine, you could refer to it as a Roman aqueduct for all I care. Flat out phenomenal.

Thanks a lot for another great video. I was so much looking forward to it. You're one of the most gifted craftsmen out there - that's for sure. What are those dovel-like things that connect legs to the box called again? Anything I searched for bring up some manicure related stuff ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Keep it up.
2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I called them compound angled dovetails, but realistically I don't think they have a name because there is so few cases they are useful. The compound angle actually makes it weaker since it makes it want to pull out of its spot when you pull on it. So the only benefit is in cases like this one where a traditional dovetail would remove too much material one of the peices (the leg in this case) and as such, even if the joint held, the leg itself would break.
