‘Stupid decision’: Graham Richardson blasts ICC for seeking arrest warrants

Former Labor senator Graham Richardson has blasted the ICC for its “stupid decision” to seek arrest warrants for Hamas leaders and Israel’s Prime Minister and Defence Minister.
The ICC is seeking arrest warrants for three leaders of Hamas, as well as Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Defence Minister.
“I think the ICC’s made a stupid decision, just stupid,” Mr Richardson told Sky News Australia.
“Trying to charge the boss of Hamas as well as Netanyahu is just dumb.”

My theory is that the ICC issued the warrants for Netanyahu, Gantz, and Gallant, because some European leaders are trying to pressure Israel to change their strategy in Gaza and stop killing and starving civilians, international aid workers and journalists. European governments supporting Israel are worried that Israel's actions will Gaza will cost them votes in their home countries. Obviously, the ICC couldn't issue warrants for the Israelis without issuing "symmetric" warrants for the Hamas leaders, because then no-one would take them seriously. But that's just my opinion, I can be totally wrong about this.
