I love all of your videos but like you said, i enjoy the more wacky ones like these too. Sometimes you have those "i wonder what would happen if i did this" kind of thoughts but would never spend the time strapping a box to an AC unit and doing this king of thing lmfao. Well, we have Jay here to do our experiments for us :D

I really would like you to do the temperature test with the setup you said: Room temperature under light load, room temperature at aggressive-overclock high load, then both when there's an A/C unit blowing air into the PC case. It would also be nice to do this with non-filtered audio for fan noise in a more real-world scenario (too many fan tests with dB or isolated fan noise, which doesn't really give me a full picture, since I generally want the best fans at a noise level I can tolerate). A nice touch would be temperature probes inside the PC case and cardboard vent. It's a bit nitpicky and residue sucks, but panels and PCIe slots, basically anywhere air can escape, should have duct tape or sealant. Variations of this experiment that I would find interesting are (in horrible and messy order because they can be combined): (1.) This is push, so if fans were pull (2.) This setup (A/C front intake) vs the entire PC case is placed in cardboard vent with slots for exhaust [all intakes get A/C]. (2a.) testbench-style "case" in cardboard vent that gets A/C (3) Adding a bunch of 120mm fans inside the cardboard vent to force the A/C air in (3a.) with air circulator in vent (4.) PC case turned upside down since "hot air rises" and slightly less distance to the hotter parts. (5.) Air VS AIO VS custom loop [push/pull on rad may actually matter in this scenario] (6.) Cardboard tunnel reaching into case and specifically enshrouding GPU and CPU air cooler, "designing" a more focused A/C airflow path with air cooler (7.) custom loop in this setup vs custom loop but only the reservoir's liquid is cooled by the A/C [should be a terrible DIY hackjob using some kind of icebox or w/e for better thermal conductivity for the water] (8.) vertical GPU and making the A/C intake from the side [remove tempered glass panel] (9.) Lining the cardboard vent with aluminum sheets/foil [like the stuff in grocery bags for cold things or used in sleeping bags].

I was just looking at it when they moved. Aha! Shiny mobo? I have something similar happening. I have a mirror in my case, cut to fit under my 3080 because that's where the rgb is when normally mounted. And we don't want to waste that rgb. It's at a 45 degree from the back of the card to the "floor" of the case. Hides the wiring at the bottom of the mobo and looks like another card mounted vertically under the horizontal one.

mini split - $1500 all parts. Then you need about $600-900 to have an electrician install the 'whip' and shut off. Then another $800 for the install (vacuum lines etc.) So. . . OK it's not like it's cheap but. . . it's totally doable. And what you do with that mini split in your office is your own business, so who cares if it just happens to duct directly into a PC case before cooling the room? Seems legit.

Along these lines, have you thought about discussing powering a desktop computer with 208 or 240 V and the extra efficiency that can bring? (I.e. quantifying it.) ... not really for European viewers but instead for those of us in North America ... especially as power consumption gets over 1 KW, this might actually improve safety and consume a little less power.

The 5950x I got it a bit over 31k at 4.72ghz at 1.27 core running steady 84c unfortunately for my build this was the peak. It will not complete the test at anything higher than this. So to save lifespan I backed it off a bit from its peak to 4.4ghz at 1.17 core and running high 60s to low 70s on temp. Rock solid stable. Ran the test 3 hours (1 hr increments) no problem. Wish I could push it a bit further but the 5950x is a furnace. And to get more I need to feed it more power which requires more cooling than a simple air cooler. Funny thing is that my other system which is a 5800x reached 4.8 as its peak on air cooling. Guess I just had bad luck on cpu lottery for the 5950x

"That might explain some things..." ROFL! More like this Jay! Also, how important is it to replace thermal pads on your RTX cards? GDDR6X at 100 C is ok, right?
