I like the bike being white or a different color than the body. It makes it pop a bit more as the heart of the car as opposed to blending in too much. Also could you mount the bike to a kind of push rod suspension so that the tail of the bike goes up and down too? That way you aren't stuck with a hard tail car lol. Or just use the bike's rear suspension?

Awsome idea! I once had a racebike and switched the shifting upside down, so on the racetrack it was first gear up, the rest down And no I have a chopper/bobber where I tried to make a suicide clutch. (Didn’t work out) So i have experience when I say: When you are going to bring the clutch to the front: keep in mind that right now it is made for your foot… When you replace the gear leaver, you also lengthen the movement to get in a different gear MASSIVLY!! Like what one you could do with your foot (5-10cm of movement) can instantly turn in a 100cm movement (un do-able when you are behind the wheel) I hop you understand what I mean, otherwise hit me up. I can send a movie to your mail

I have an idea: what about cutting the rear floor and mounting the bike lower, so you can use the rear swingarm of the bike making it work like the quad one: you can solve "suspension and drivetrain" problem. Also, with the bike mounted lower, you can "move the sequential gearbox" under the floor, making it cleaner inside, and it would be easier to cool down the motor/moving the radiator. Another "advantage" would be being able to drive Kevin by using the actual bike, making it crazier. This project is so cool in my opinion (I hope my comment is understandable... English isn't my first language)

In order to drive the rear axle, you will need to mount the bike hard to Kevin's floor. Maybe weld together a bike stand (for both front and rear), but use the rear without the whole wheel. The reason for hard mounting the bike is the chain needs to maintain its length. Talk to bike builders about cooling. Not sure if or how low the radiator can be mounted in relation to the engine if you decide to put it in the place of the old engine.

I would keep the rear axle as it is, but making yet another subframe to hold the end of a longitudinal axle from the diff to the point the chain connects. It would need a welded small diff just under the bike engine's output, the transversal axle with the sprocket for the bike to move it, and the rear diff. But it would be a way better solution, even it it's too complex for a show car.

you have to lose the front wheel, then just weld the front bike shox to a fixed frame Kevin, then it can't steer. if the rear drive is just a fixed axle, it will make cornering mad because both wheels will always be turning the same speed and the tyre screeching will be hilarious 😂 I love it, this is why nightride is the best automotive KZbin, because you have really original ideas on a small budget!

for the shifting set up i suggest a double cable setup one for shifting up one for shifting down. One cable would pull up on the lever and one would pull down. Then, hook both cables up to the front and back of any sort of lever. it would also be easy to tuck away down by the floor or if you want to get fancy, drill one large or two small holes in the floor and route it under the body and repeat up near the lever.

It's absolutely crazy idea and that's exactly why it is so cool! You guys are amazing! Can't wait to see the progress and the result. In my opinion it would be cool to change even the color of Kevin (+motorcycle). You know, this red & blacc combo is hella nice and fits Kevin well but it's been like that for kinda long time now. And when you're changing the whole style, why not change the color as well? Also, a small technical point: are you sure the engine would be powerful enough to drive both Kevin and the motorcycle? I mean, it's meant to drive only the motorcycle, the whole combo (motorcycle + Kevin's body + wide wheels) will be much heavier.

This will be awesome! Not sure, but removing the wheels and the front fork and rear "fork" (the one that holds the rear wheel), and just mount the bike on her belly in like a subframe. This would lower the center of gravity and remove any tilting possibilities, so in case this will do some corners, the bike does not fly around. Maybe a stupid suggestion, but this is what was on my mind :D Keep up the great work!

Space heaters really confuse me, a normal boiler does everything it can to completely separate you from the flame and the fumes, if an oil boiler leaks people can die from carbon monoxide poisoning and yet space heaters just burn in open air and shoot all the fumes right into your shop? It is just that shops are drafty and not sealed that people aren’t passing out?

To be honest, I wasn't sure at first, but why not after all! You're gonna have to deal with a lot of engineering challenges though. I read a few ones in the comments already. I would say you should mount the bike from its frame so that it doesn't move at all because of the suspension. Otherwise, the chain could skip. Also, You will most likely need to use 2 chains and mount an intermediate shaft so that the movement of the suspension doesn't make the chain go loose. For the shifter, you could use some rods and cantilevers on the floor to turn a front-back movement into an up-down movement that will move the pedal on the bike. Clutch and throttle should be simple. You'll be left with managing cooling and exhaust after that I think. Good luck guys!

A solid through-axle to mount the front end would probably be more ideal than a cage around the wheel. It'll make getting the bike in and out more challenging, but it'll be a lot better than the bike being able to move up and down a couple centimeters. Plus it gets the front wheel out of the way, which'll make it a whole lot easier to get seats in there.

I think this build is absolutely epic. But one issue I definitely see is the cooling for the motor. Since on a motor bike it is always getting air directly on the motor now u put it inside a metal box and restrict it is a big no no. As well as making the whole rear axle solid and making it chain driven. The chain is only good for a few hundred pounds, but now it has to move 2 ton is a recipe for disaster.

Kevin weight 600kg stock. with removed old engine and components probably 500 + biks 180kg will make it less than 700kg. Cooling can be fixed with big fans, oild cooler and air vents. People used motorbikes' engines in cars before and could do it so we can do it too :)

@@NIGHTRIDEPL Not too bad on the weight. Might lack on the power though. Maybe take some inspiration from the pikes peak mini go-karts that have motor bike engines. They are called Sierra rx3 and the sierra alpha. Looking at the drivetrain and suspension setup. Might want to keep the shocks if you plan to race. And the cock pick might get hot so you could separate the drive and motor bike by a sheet of plexiglass so it is still visible. Or just put a box fan in the passenger seat 😂. Anyways love the vids and the amazing editing 🤟💙

You guys are the best on the interwebs! Your videos are the best! Just remember that motorbikes usually don't have reverse gear, so might be a problem if you want it roadworthy. 🤘

Mad idea 😂 I love it! To cool the engine maybe you can replace the rear side windows with polycarbonate. And then make cutouts to run huge naca intake ducts on the poly windows leading to the engine. And/or a weird looking way: roof scoops similar to aftermarket Toyota MR2 roof intake snorkels/scoops. Then maybe route them through a polycarbonate rear window with cutouts. May look really weird, but hey it's a funky Kevin! 😂

As long as you brace the bike with an exo-skeleton full send! Only concern I see is if the chain will be able to move the weight of the van when accelerating from a stop. There is gonna be a lot of tension on the chain and gears.

Careful with that diesel heater tho, it warms the place good but remember to ventilate because it burns up air very quick too

A bike in the van is dope. Reminds me of the Honda Motocompo. But rigging up the driveline and having a running engine in the cabin sounds like a nightmare… my vote: do the swap proper, and build a custom bike to match the aesthetic and space

Few things I wanna question and that’s 1. What’s your plan for exhaust fumes and shit ? And 2. With windows shut and bike running through gears wouldn’t inside the cab be deafening loud ? Even with earplugs I imagine it to be loud big time
