Really, really excellent video. As a diehard fan of Survivor who's particularly interested in the darker, more insidious, manipulative side of the franchise (that a lot of devoted fans tend to disregard) this is exactly the kind of thing I find interesting to dig into. Very comprehensive and respectfully handled without too much sensationalizing. Glad you cited sources as there were some questions I had watching this that maybe that'll clear up. In the English-speaking fanbase, the death that gets by far the most attention and discussion is Noncho's, but even then I had never heard the sea snake theory. That's very interesting and even more so when as you say, Philippines (a bit of a fan favorite season) and Caramoan (...still a season that existed, at any rate) were filmed in that same spot, as well as an earlier edition of Koh-Lanta. Unsettling to imagine that maybe one of those casts could have been met with a similar fate. I had heard about Babin's passing before, but not in anywhere near as much depth as you went into here, and this is actually the first I'm ever hearing of Khan (maybe because it's not explicitly a Survivor program, I guess.) That one is actually the most astounding and harrowing for me (though all three are deeply sad losses, of course) -- all the mishandling outlined in Babin's death but even worse as there was apparently no medical staff, lifeguard, etc. at all?? And what in the world were they thinking with the challenge itself??? That's basically asking them to swim with concrete shoes. The contestants themselves being compelled to do a challenge that was surely clearly unsafe, it going in the exact worst way possible, and then having to stand by hopelessly and dive in themselves... horrifying. Again, great video. I see your description mentions donating so while I can't contribute much I'd love to know where I could do that. This surely has to be one of the best Survivor videos on this site.

French doc was in denial cause he should have been the one in charge of the helicopter, being the lead doctor. The fact that the French Alps has the best search and rescue team in the world and the best helicopter pilots lends towards extreme negligence. Can't say I feel sorry for the medical team for feeling guilty, obviously he knew he fucked up.
