Been reading JLA and World's Finest, from way back in the day. Back issues, all day, any day. I don't have a hard cutoff, but I'd say it's definitely the early 2000's, before it really started getting bad, around 2008 or 9. One of my favorite trades, to collect, and even reread, was JLA. Reading the individual books, and even teamup books, was fun, JLA was the book that brought them all together. DC has hired so many bad creators, so many bitter, miserable people, who hate not only the established names, but the fans, it's pretty much impossible, to recover, unless all of these people are gone. I'm a massive DC fan, and it really is heartbreaking, to look in, and see so many terrible books launching, stories that feel like they were written for the Twitter and reddit crowd, all the spite. Even the better books are boring, at best. The thing I'm not sure of, is Jim Lee onboard with ruining the line, or is he just nodding and collecting and his check? Does he even have the power to stop this, or is a collection of people, watching the money burn and compelling him to do more? Selling everything, to appease people who hate comics, and the happiness of comic fans, is just a terrible business model, as evidenced by the numbers. Just looking through collections, of older stories, even from as recent as 2004, the DCU just looks terrible now. None of the real heroes matter, the premier team is gone, in their place, a collection of parodies, of superheroes, how gay the characters are matters more than skillset, motivation, or morals, even if a halfway decent book sneaks by, the entire DCU is garbage, now.

I don't knownwhether or not his mother was established as an atlantean, but how did manta pull that off? I try to give them chances here and there but their content is pretty bad. Hawkgirl #4 pretty much sums up everything I hate about modern content and ties with the worst comic book I ever read. At the moment I am only reading the Energon-Verse. The content from them is amazing. Its made by talented writers that know and respect how the characters work. Even after stumbles, DC sell much more than Marvel at my store. I had a total of 19 individual Marvel floppies come in this week. Not that many titles, but comics. Couple of Marvel titles, were just a single issue for pull customer only. I sell more image than Marvel.

I bought 29 books yesterday. Zero dc. 7 of the 29 were indie. Rest marvel. I enjoy your perspective, wondering if you do a video of a book(s) you enjoy each week?

I just read a couple dozen issues run of that from #1 -- riveting! Couldn't stop reading them & never really considered myself a fan of the character until this run. . .got them in perfect condition for around a dime each!!!

Not isn't not. I never liked to see Arthur killing Black manta daddy and giving a valid reason to him be a super-villain and hate Aquaman. N52 was dark and edge garbage. Nothing more.

Here’s what you do with the JLA: Use the JLA’a rich history by having stories set in the cave and satellite years. Those are the best stories that Dc ever done and that’s PRE-CRISIS! Current JLA can be done with having characters rotated in the current roster. The old days had members rotating as chairmen to lead the team. They also had new members votes and certificates given to those new said members. That’s what made the team special! Also, use the old villains and tweak them to be dangerous. Wonder Woman- George Perez and Phil Jimenez did the character justice! Use those themes that both men created and keep it!!! I’d even go further and say Rucka’s first run was great and have her as the ambassador of Themyscira. That’s how you get her back to what she’s supposed to be. Bring back Challengers if the Unknown and the old space characters of the 60’s. The DC Universe needs more alien worlds and species.

I've never really understood DCs popularity. DC has powers with a character attached and Marvel has a character with a power attached.

Justice league usually turns to shit pretty quick, they had the brightnidea last time to hand it over to bendis and he replaced everyone with his shit pet characters, end of the line right after that

Several Marvel titles I don't even order a single title. Not a single customer wants it. An example is.... Daredevil, Thor, Dr Strange, FF, Capt Marvel, She-Hulk, Captain Americaand others.

Marvel sales are falling for my store and 3 others i know of. DC comics are absolutely putrid amongst all 4.

Maybe (for once) they choose not to publish any new JL books because they just dont have any good stories to publish. Maybe thats a smarter move than to be crushed by low sales numbers and (more) bad PR for their brand?

If they bring back the Justice league I hope it wouldn’t be delayed like JSA.

the people who said that dc wanted to raise the sucide squad and remove the justice league and replace them by the sucide squad were right no wonder there are a game and comic for sucide squad and coming anime and between all of them months or year or two they even turned Justice League into villains in the sucide squad game but the fire turned back at the company

Batman First Night has been very enjoyable. The new Hellblazer is incredibly dark but solid. Gargoyles of Gotham very original and exciting. They may not be regular series, but they are fresh, entertaining takes on classic DC characters. But that said, they STILL need a kick-ass Justice League title!

Maybe not having an JL book right now isn't such a bad idea, Wes. I mean, at least the can't desecrate our beloved characters if there is no book where they can be desecrated, right?

If only Jim Lee stayed as an artist then his legacy would be untouched. Now he is looked upon as a artist, sell-out to his "masters at the DC board" and idiot that doesn't care and understand the comic world. Jim only thinks about money with a stupid smile.

Teen Titans comics used to be one of best comics out there. And the Justice League comics are just terrible. The majority of Justice League comics just suck. Outside the 80's Justice League International years and the 90's JLA, and some stand alone/out of continuity stories, Justice League comics are just terrible. DC should hire Kurt Busiek and ask him to do with the Justice League what he did with the Avengers in the late 90's
