Last year there was a black guy that had what I think was called Porky’s outside the iron horse. I’ve never had collard greens before but I figured this dude being at Sturgis would do them right, and they were amazing. Super sweet guy and the rest of the food was good, too, but that was a proper introduction to collard greens. I’m definitely going to find that guy this time

@@ProfessionalMonkey The long story long was I walked up there (it was a mobile bbq joint,but not a food truck) and saw a ribeye sandwich on his menu and asked him about it and he said that they were still coming off the grill and as he was saying that, he handed me a big strip of brisket. I was like, holy cow that’s awesome! Can you make a sandwich out of that? Yep…and it was gooood. He had the standards for sides including the collard greens.

When coming from Mt. Rushmore down iron mountain rd headed to Custer there’s a place called the wolf bar on your left the best nachos that are served on a lunch tray it’s huge bring friends also 2 dollar beers! Boars nest is great good beef hot dogs there too!

There is the little Mexican place on Lazelle and Sly St. It is called La Risa Mexican Cuisine. There is no indoor sitting but I though the food was good.

We will have meals at the Powder House and Alpine Inn this year. Steerfish Steakhouse in Spearfish is great and we always go the the Social House (upstairs from Saloon #10) in Deadwood is another favorite.

Absolutely love these "Where to...Sturgis" vids......having the awesome privilege to have been there three times, I am familiar with a few of these spots. Stayed at the Chip in 2018 and I can vouch for the breakfast, as well as that AWESOME New York style pizza at Bikini Beach after the concerts! Uncle Louie's diner in downtown Sturgis is amazing - but get there EARLY!!! The steak tips at The Loud American are every bit as advertised, too! I've eaten there every trip out (2018, 2020, 2021) Here's some advice to those who might be staying in Rapid City.......last year my wife and I rode out from Ohio the week before the rally and spent four nights at Holiday Inn Express just off 90 in Rapid City .....it was her first trip, so we were out there mainly to ride and take in the sights......we bought liquor in town and decided to ride during the day then have food delivered to the room in the evening. The great folks at the front desk recommended Boss's Pizza and Chicken and they did NOT disappoint! The first night in town we ate at the Loud American before riding back to Rapid City, then the next three nights we ordered delivery from Boss's and they were absolutely awesome. Just a recommendation if anyone out there wants to take in the sights and save a little money on alcohol, not to mention not risking getting a DUI on the bike. Plus, the hotel has a great breakfast buffet, so we ate breakfast, rode all day, snacked and grabbed a drink while we were out, then at the end of the day we had food delivered and drank in the hotel room. It was low-key, but we loved it and had a great time.

Exit 48, Summerset. Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church. Local Boy Scouts serve breakfast everyday of the Rally, all you can eat. Amazing and reasonable. Also, just up the road, exit 46, Piedmont, American Legion post 311 serves breakfast and suppers, real homemade meals, every day of the rally as well. Again amazing food and reasonable and you are supporting the Legion and our veterans!

The boars nest and lewies burgers are fantastic!! there just outside of lead. i recomend the boars nest burger, its a big burger with pulled pork on time and fresh cut fries!

Powder House is awesome, agreed! We just got back from a trip and stayed there at the Lodge. We were lucky enough to get reservations on 2 nights while we were there for a week. Had the Prime Rib and the Ribeye steak. Hard to beat either of those. First time in the Black Hills for me.

Maybe a bit pricey but the Gas Light Dining Saloon in Rockerville has good prime rib, got it with two sides, a diet coke and a couple beers after the meal for $35, not any worse than other places, heck I dropped 21 bucks in a dairy queen out there ,that price was for the 2020 rally. This place is east of Keystone just off Rt 16 East, Rockerville exit.

My parents took me to Sturgis in '90. We wandered down a street and someone was serving awesome juevos rancheros in their yard. I believe they called themselves Miss Piggies or something like that. I wonder if they still do that 30-some years later.
