Great video, thanks for doing it and sharing...It looks a bit different than when I worked on the trains out of Boston in all directions as a LSA. Faster and smoother than I remember, we maxed out @ 90 MPH in Conn & RI. This looks faster than that, looks more like 110..Wish you had a speedometer on an Iphone to show us...But none the less excellent ride..PS; my favorite spot to stand when I had nothing to do, (which wasn't often) as we had Club/ Cafe cars back then.

Nor sure if the old New Haven trackage looked this good, even in its prime?!

Never; it was originally all jointed rail. I think the welded rail went in when the former New Haven "Shore Line" was electrified from New Haven to Boston around 2000. It may not quite be "high speed" by Euorpean or Japanese standards, but it's currently the fastest stretch of passenger rail in the US. 🙂

This is why I wish that Alstom could (or had permission to) mount a GoPro in the noses of the Avelia trainsets (not merely the Liberty series for the US, but the trainsets everywhere). Why - in-train wi-fi is a stabpe of passenger rail globally; why not include the from-the-cab 4K as part of the feature set?

With suction cup technology there is no need to ask Alstom!
