Hi Stu, good to see you back in the gyro, since I last commented, I've completed 2 solo flights,(my initial 3 circuits, and a consolidation flight over the Black Isle), yesterday, I flew from Inverness to Dornoch,(under supervision),it was my second time landing on a grass runway, my recent flights have been in a Cavalon(GCKVZ), the weather was glorious for yesterday's flight, it's a joy to fly in weather like that, thanks for sharing,take care, all the best from Scotland, Stephen.

Awesome, as every of your videos! What a landscape in Snowdonia! Unfortunately, my charter gyro was grounded for nearly 2 months due to delayed spare part delivery and when it was back to duty, weather starts unpredictable. So, like in winter, I enjoy your vids. 😃

Good spot by your passenger. I always brief my passengers to look out for aircraft, too. I tell them that if I spot something, I will call it out so they know that they don't have to but they sometimes do spot something before I do. I also like to play "spot the airfield" with my passengers. It's interesting how spotting airfields appears to be a learned skill. I found it hard early on in my training and passengers sometimes cannot spot the most obvious ones until we are almost right on top of them.

Really enjoyable video thanks! It was great fun hearing you mangle the Welsh mountain names and I liked your impressive airmanship throughout!

Hiya, great content. I recently bought a GoPro and did my first content last Sunday. How do you record the intercom and radio? Thanks, Dave
@StuWithAView4 ай бұрын
It wasn’t easy. I patched into my intercom wiring and take an audio out to a separate recorder.

Great stuff ! Nice to see you back in the gyro. Magnificent countryside. Your cameras work very well - could you share which brand/model you are using please?

On this flight I am using an Insta 360 X4 on the mast, GoPro Hero 11 on my chest, and the other two are GoPro Max.

The British pasture structure is very pretty, and the Welsh countryside throwing in some mountain ranges looks amazing. The meandering river is also absolutely stunning. I'm personally not a fan of low level flights as it aligns too many risk factors. Obviously the probability is low, but should the engine quit, there's just no margin left for getting your machine out of it in one piece and I imagine the passengers would be at least quite a bit inconvenienced as well. For me, the trade off is not worth it, but I understand and respect that it's a up to each pilot to to make their own considerations. Lovely video, thanks for sharing 👍

Thanks for your comment. I too respect your view on low level flying. I wouldn’t do it with every passenger or over every lake; but in these circumstances with this passenger it made for a very memorable flight.

Always amazes me that gyros hang of a pole and a bearing and fly just fine. Wonder what the flight time is before replacement/inspection ?

@@StuWithAView OK thanks, thought it was Sleap but wasn't sure. You flew over areas I fly over in msfs a lot as I love Snowdonia. Always wanted to fly my powered hang glider over Snowdon but never did, sadly its been years since I last got airborne, but have enjoyed watching your content.
