i absolutely agree, visuals need to progress and build to be engaging - though that i think depends somewhat on the quality of the musical performance you're doing visuals for :)

Hi Stv , great tutorial and i agree with making a progress and a story trough your vj set and keeping your best visuals to the peak of the party, unfortunately the problem nowadays is the kind of music that the dj is playing. We are having great stages with led walls with pop music.

Great visuals (and tutorial) as always! :D Those changing lights/shadows effects are highly effective for storytelling. Talking about futuristic storytelling, I assume you've seen some footage from the 'afterlife' shows from Anyma? kzbin.info/www/bejne/hoTNgX1jj5Vrr7c Perfect example of a DJ set/show where the visuals are as important as the music itself.

Thanks J. Of course I've seen Afterlife, it's mesmerizing. Pondering how to make visuals that are not running on a timeline (Afterlife is pre-scripted I believe), still be able to pronounce such key-points in audio (as banging on a way for instance). Perhaps longer clips is the answer, letting performers choose what point of the clips they wanna play. Afterlife's popularity has shown how much more interest visuals can arouse, that's so awesome ))
