This episode is perhaps in my top four of my all time favorite Episodes of "Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard " the indepth story telling about the hell in a cell match from the very beginning to the very end is simply amazing I feel that Bruce tied all the loose ends together like a perfect bow on a Christmas present. Not to mention the stories from the other matches that were also on the card that was told extremely well. Bruce and Conrad I sincerely want to thank both of you for doing this podcast week in and week out you guys bring the magic in the story telling about the business and it makes me very proud to be a wrestling fan/geek.

June 28, 1998. Section A6. Row B. Seat 1. 20 Feet away from Mick Foley's fall. I have the ticket with to prove it. At the pre show party, they had a beat up car they were having fans, for $5, take 5 shots with a sledgehammer, to beat the car up. I was the first to bash the front windshield in. I was trained by the same guys that trained Sterling James Keenan and his brother Sam Elias. Oops! I mean Corey Graves and... Just Elias. This was the show that got me training in the ring about 3 months later.

This moment in time is what made me a hardcore wrestling fan..I owe that to Mick Foley..I remember I rented this ppv and could not believe what I saw...This match left me speechless and scarred as this had proved that this was on another level..This had me to where I knew I could not miss another live event again...And I never did..

Here's my fantasy book for the Stone Cold/Kane match. Austin DOES set Kane on fire. An emergency crew runs out to put the fire out. But after they do, Kane is gone, completely disappeared. Then at a later date, maybe on Raw the next night or a few weeks later, you have Undertaker Cast a Spell involving fire in the ring and Kane then tears out of the middle of the ring from underneath it, and goes on a rampage, single mindedly obsessed with stalking Stone Cold and destroying him.

I will never forget this pay per view. I was away at Lacrosse camp for a month. We were staying at a college in Vermont. The college had its own movie theatre too which was rad. Anyway, wreatling was so god damn popular back then that the counselors ordered the pay per view and we got to watch it on the giant movie screen in the theatre. Such a cool experience. Especially to see the hell in a cell classic that it was on the big screen.

This was a very historical show. Not considering what was going on backstage, the last 2 matches went off really well. With Undertaker suffering that ankle injury, Mankind did a great job plotting out this match. I think a fire was lit under him when Vince didn't want to put the WWF Championship on the line vs Steve Austin inside the hell in a cell. I agree with Conrad and Bruce, w/o this match, Mick should still be in the hall of fame. Its like Mick's career is based on this match and this is why he is in the hall of fame. Mick wanted to make sure people got their money's worth and he made sure Undertaker was safe and still looked like a badass inside his playground. Didnt realize until watching this was that Hell in a Cell was the 6th time Undertaker and Mankind fought. Plus, 2 weeks prior we had those 4 men inside Hell in a Cell on Raw and on the wwe network we saw the whole match in its entirely cause they didnt have the run off like they do on USA.

He has not gained these titles in Japan, nor has he officially won any world titles. He carries a third-degree judo black belt. He is also a cryomancer and a five guap.

Good episode. TOTALLY agree that the AL SNOW gimmick was entertaining & also it was over. AL kept telling everyone "I NEED TO SEE VINCE"..... That was a shoot line AL used to tell the agents when he was trying to quit WWF back in 97'. This was chronicled in a RF VID shoot interview that was conducted during SNOW'S ECW run.(must see/listen if your getting into the bness) If that could of been expounded upon more, there was NO LIMIT on how far SNOW could go up the Card. Including I've always believed a run on top as a HEEL w real heat that would of put AUSTIN in jeopardy. The WWF TOP CARD was so weak as far as numbers go, not talent. 4-6 guys OVER a span of Y E A R S is absolutely insane when you think about it. But it goes to show you when your REALLY a fucking star & storyline is captivating: you can get away with that. Unlike WCW, who while doing HOGAN/FLAIR part 6 (fairness so was WWF with FOLEY/TAKER or AUSTIN/TAKER or ROCK/HHH) with NO DAMN story, repetitive promos, or having specialty matches that NEVER paid off or were cool. It wasn't hard to see why WWF was able to kick the shit outta them. WCW's strength WAS ALWAYS in the mid card & CWEIGHT division. That's the one place WCW had WWF CRUSHED in and it was work rate. But AMAZINGLY they refused to have compelling, even somewhat good, if any storyline s in those great in ring worked matches. It was a WONDERFUL example that in American Pro Wrestling, it's not just enough to have the work horses that can go inside from bell to bell; you've got to have the sizzle to go along w that stizeizake as ROSS would say... NO CONRAD FOR REAL, BTFBBB!!!! I think maybe I should call WWE and get u looked at. By the wellness policy: BC...BTFBBB?!.!?!?!?? DAMN!!

HBK has always talked highly about that Mind Games In Your House match. Def one of his favorites. Foley, and more specifically the Mankind gimmick, has always been my favorite wrestles. Biggest reason is he let all of his opponents let loose on him and show their "hardcore" side, more specifically Austin, Rock, and HHH. Aka, biggest stars of the Attitude Era. Mix in the comedy sideshow, and he just showed off everything that made wrestling great back in those days. He was the total supetstar

Ciaran Murren it's just people in the business working. All these years going by and all these shoots about the match and not one person mentioning the cage was gimmicked. But Yeah, the spot obviously didn't go as planned.

#1 because of his love for the business, his willingness to do whatever he can to give us fans our moneys worth,he’s not scared to give his opinion. People can say all they want about who started the women’s revolution but in my opinion Mick started it by standing up for them. Stone cold, rock, and other big stars say mick has the most creative mind in the biz. And most importantly he was unselfish when helping and putting over other people. And so on and so on lol I can go for days on why Mick is greatest.

Charles T If you were heavy into wrestling during Foley's in ring career and watched him, then I can't see any good reasons why he wouldn't be a serious contender for your top 10-20. Totally understandable why he would be many people's number 1. Who are your top 5, definite top 5?
@charlest5604

CAMZAB I love Mick Foley and respect everything he's done in the business but the best wrestler of all time is a stretch. I admit that I'm more drawn to technical wrestlers and might be a tad bias. 1 stone cold 2 kurt angle 3 aj styles 4 bret/owen hart 5 Daniel Bryan

Charles T He didn't say he's the best wrestler of all time. Thanks for giving your list. Everyone has their own. Anyone with Stone Cold at number one will appreciate Foley.

Pittsburgh isn't talked about much because it's a crossroads, it certainly was back then. It's well-traveled and a hub unto itself but always a crossroads for the larger actors.

M M I was referring to the same part. (The previous post threw me off because he quoted the moment as "Oh my God..") The entire quote from that moment is "Good God, Almighty! Good God, Almighty! That killed him!" "That" referring to the fall.

While "that" would have made more sense, he said "they". Unless you can point me somewhere where JR clarified what he said.
