To the Vince McMahon retiring question, I think the only thing that will make him stop besides dying, would be if he Scott Dementia or something along those lines where he was alive but didn't really know who he was anymore. And I truly hope that doesn't happen to him. He is 75. I hope he has another 10 years of being able to be around the wrestling business and then another five years of Still having his mental faculties before passing away in his sleep.

I'm calling BS on Razor getting to be champ in time. He was dropping to low mod card when he jumped to WCW. Maybe since business was so bad that might have thrown ideas at the wall and eventually given Razor the strap for a month or 2 but I highly doubt it. Seemed like he had hit his ceiling in WWF and wasn't gonna do more that put young guys over in 96/97/98 ( if he'd stayed) As far as Connor McGregor goes , he's like 5"6 145 lbs. He'd be smaller than Becky Lynch in the ring. How could he have been a threat to anyone?? .. I mean a 1 off at Wrestlemania might have drawn money but a full time run as a wrestler would look / be absoutley ridiculous. I'm 5"7 and weigh 195 and have been lifting for 15 years and I think I'd look so tiny in that big ring against a 6"5 250 lb opponent that it's the main reason I never considered the wrestling business. I've been a fan since 1987 ( but everyone knows you need to be tall) AJ Styles will explain to anyone that doesn't know what I'm talking about. He didn't get a shot until he spent 20 years in TNA and the Indies building a fan base. And he still looks tiny next to someone like Randy Orton ( who was small when he broke in the biz in early 2000s
@danlord7717
@danlord7717 4 жыл бұрын
Jason Douglas it’s crazy to think in ‘87, guys like Steamboat and Bret were considered “small.” Today, a guy like Reigns is considered a beast. While he is a big dude, he’s about the size of Hennig in his prime. And Perfect was not billed as a big guy. Just look at the hosses on the roster then - Hogan, Hercules, Warrior, Brutus, Butch Reed, Orndorff, Demolition, Billy Jack Haynes, Patera, Duggan, Volkoff, Muraco, Haku.
@jasondouglas152

It's crazy how the size of the " boys " has changed. Everyone was Stromans size in the 80s
@danlord7717
@danlord7717 4 жыл бұрын
Jason Douglas absolutely. The guys are far more athletic these days, but the average size of a wrestler now is about 5’10 and billed as 220 (while their actual weight is about 185).
@jasondouglas152
@jasondouglas152 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's crazy. I know the heights and weights are always exaggerated, but even Jake Roberts was a legit 6"5 and 230 lbs at minimum. It's same in boxing and UFC. People lost interest in the heavyweight divisions because there's so few guys and most of them are out of shape and zero charisma. Guys like A J Styles and Seth Rollins are a product of Shawn Michels and Bret Hart. But even those guys were 6"0 225 ish. And they were tiny back in the day. .. I think people really like to see the big guys fight eachother , probably 1 of the reasons why business is so down. Hogan vs Andre .. Hogan vs Rock .. Hogan vs Warrior , ECT. Now it's AJ Styles vs The Miz or whoever with a combined weight of 350
@andrewmckee6580
@andrewmckee6580 4 жыл бұрын
Ive met a number of the current guys. Finn Balor is billed at 200ish, but he is lucky to be over 180. A few years back when I was in rather good shape, 5'7" 200lbs my arms were twice as big as Finn Balor's...dont get me wrong the guy is as shredded and lean as possible, but not a big guy at all. Look at Drew McIntyre vs Adam Cole in NXT Cole looks like a small child. Its the evolution of the business...in the 80's 230lbs was small, guys like Tito Santana, Curt Hennig, Rick Martel (who was a monster in reality). But then you had 6'5" 300lbers like the Warlord, hell even Haku looked small back then. There is more diversity of height...there are still the giants like Rowan, Strowman etc they are as big if not bigger than Big John Studd who was the #2 Giant of the time. But the lower end has opened up dramatically.

Before I give my opinions, just want to congrulate everybody at Something to wrestle with cause they are at 75,100 subscribers on their youtube channel. Anyway, this was a fun time opening the mailbag. I know I am in for a good time when Conrad opens it. I think Brock vs Hardcore Holly feud was a real let down. Considering Brock almost ended Bob's career and cost him 14 months maybe I was expecting more of an intense Bob Holly and a better payoff. I loved that grocery store match. Booker T was funny as he was crying every time Steve Austin was kicking his ass.
