Thank you for the review -- it's very helpful with pros and cons. I think for my purposes of learning to windsurf it's a better option than buying an old 20kg windsurf long board

I really enjoyed my STX 280 as a total beginner, in light wind conditions. However one day it exploded on the beach after about 1.5 years of not that heavy use. It was still covered by warranty though, now waiting for a replacement. After this experience I'm not so confident that inflatable sups that are glued together will hold up for more than a few years.

buy RRD... my RRD AirSUP 2012 survived 11 years before it exploded. And that was my fault, because I left it fully inflated on the sun.

I recently bought this board for supping and light wind windsurfing. Very happy with it! I also own Starboard Isonics and am very experienced, but this is a lot of fun when winds are low. Have been planing with a 8.6 cambered sail, but 7.0 would be the right max. sailssize for the fins. In stronger winds its no match for my carbon slalomgear, of course.

Hello, really good review !! I'm considering this board to use with wing foil sail, currently I'm using on a simple SUP. Approximately, what is the speed to start to plane ?? Do you think that the straps could be well positioned ? Do you know what are the dimension of the backpack with all the parts inside ? Thanks a lot for your help and thank again for the good review Alberto

I think, planning should start at 18-20 km/h. I'm just guessing. I have no experience with wing sail. I think the straps are not spaced correctly for the wing sail.

Have you tried the STX 250 for comparison? Do you think that might turn and handle better?

Thank you! Have you tried other alternatives like rrd air or duo wind?
