Oh this great! Very thorough and detailed. I agree especially about the shoes, because that brings health into it as well. (You don't realise this until you're middle aged!). I say if you only spend money on one thing, make it decent shoes!

Thank you! And 100% agree on the shoes. I got my bunion because of school shoes at age 13 and spent my teenage years wearing comfortable shoes only to sacrifice them again in the name of “fashion” when my interest really started to pique in my late teens/early twenties. Regret it now as I’m sure I made it worse. Thankfully it doesn’t hurt but have zero tolerance for narrow shoes these days. Pays to spend a little more for something comfortable (and well made) for sure!! 👌🏻

My favorite knits of all are those made of 100% silk, but they’re hard to find. I’m always Googling them everywhere. This is the most comfortable fabric ever! But, only for autumn and spring, really, it’s not a very warm fabric. In winter, they make wonderful first layers.

Yes agree with you on this! xx

Great video. I agree with you on a lot of your places to save. One thing you didn’t mention and i can guess you would say to buy higher quality is jewelry.

Thank you! And YES I 100% agree. Personally finding that I'm much more drawn in general to solid gold pieces as I get older

Great tip about passing on funky smelling denim (or in my case I bought a pair of black trousers that smelled bad. Repeated washes and airing it outside overnight has only decreased the smell.

Thank you! It's one of those things I've only ever noticed with affordable denim (usually from fast fashion brands) and after making the mistake to keep them once and wash (repeated times, smell is still there :S ), I vowed never again!

This is a little random but could you tell me more about the framed painting/photo art in the background on the cabinet?? It looks like an interesting illustration from here but hard to tell

Oh! The black and white image? That's a photograph of me and my husband from our wedding day. Have been trying to decide where to put it (finally settled on a spot this weekend) so that was its temporary home haha :)

Love you channel! You mentioned your hair - do you know what caused it to change? Mine also seems thinner than it use to be :/
@mademoisellejaime10 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! So, I am speculating here but I think for me it's combined age/having two children as you got through so many hormonal changes when you have kids. Maybe switching hair care products too or diet? So many factors it's really hard to pinpoint isn't it? xx

I noticed you didn’t mention The Curated in your tailoring section. I have a vague memory of you reviewing their blazer, knowing you’re a fan of their coats. Am I misremembering??
@mademoisellejaime10 ай бұрын
Hi Tanya - Oh! that wasn't for any reason at all. The Curated's blazers are gorgeous. And I believe they use silk lining too which is very luxurious :)

My hypersensitive skin can’t tolerate any synthetic (plastic) fibers, or even blends containing them, plus I overheat in them in a minute or two, this happens more after menopause. So, I spend the most on natural-fiber/material items, like: 1. genuine leather clothing, footwear and accessories; 2. cotton, silk, linen wool and cashmere knits and wovens; and 3. tailored items like blazers and coats. I can tolerate polyester pleated skirts, there’s no choice for those, with a silk petticoat or slip underneath. But not in warm weather! This natural-material limitation does make for a much higher-cost wardrobe, but I don’t see that I have much choice. (Allergies to plastics develop over time with repeated exposure, they didn’t bother me that much in my 20s). San Francisco, age 63.

You should add cutaway outfits throughout.
