I just ordered one and it came with the black faper instead of the gold one, so perhaps Stylecraft is proactively addressing the heat issue.

I put it on my sc apex and it hits and stays cool for a long time. So does the fade blade on the apex as well tho.

@believerthebarber People say they get hot but I think you put the black faper blade with a ceramic cutting blade will reduce that alot but 360 Jeezy said the black faper blade reduce the heat

What people need to understand is a 0 guard is not a .5 guard. It doesnt cut as close as a .5 guard does regardless of what the mm claim them to be at. A 0 guard is usually in between a .5 and a 1 length. So when you see that slight line that it leaves behind you have to use certain techniques to get the line out completely with no guard open. The benefit of a 0 guard over a .5 guard is.. It cuts the hair more flush and you also dont have to use a lot of lever play at all. In most cases you can literally just use it completely closed with a slight flick motion to blend it into a 1 closed perfectly. Its a lot faster at this. It takes time to get used to it but its more efficient than using a .5 guard where you have to use it open halfway closed then quarter of way then half or closed again. Still a line? Take the guard off now blade open again. You see how much more work that is? 0 guard is all the way closed slight flick halfway open (most of the time you can skip this step..) take the guard off blade open technique done.

Battery life advertises for 4 hours, it usually only last me 3-4 haircuts maybe 2 hrs max. Anyone else have this issue? It’s def not 4 hrs, still love the instincts though.

That’s because the more power you use to debulk thicker hair the more you’re going to reduce the battery life. Same concept with pushing the gas paddle in your car at high speed will reduce your gasoline quicker.

I agree with the click levers they make it seem like its more precise but in reality floating levers are more precise because you can move the lever in more positions than just the 5 they give you with clicks to be even more detailed.

I’ve got the trimmer from TPOB which is the same as the instinct but much cheaper. Just bought it for £115.20 or $139.08. It’s the same just different colour and branding. The stylecraft one is £190 or $230

It's like this....TPOB GOBLIN has StyleCraft Instinct beat... their blade don't get hot like that gold blade StyleCraft uses...plus is almost $100 cheaper. Yea, TPOB GOBLIN don't come with stretch bracket and extra bodies but that's basically it! I'm a little upset I paid almost $300 for StyleCraft Instinct but happy I spent under $200 for TPOB GOBLIN! C'MON AMERICA WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON! Then their is a Gold and Black pair of clippers made like The Instinct and the GOBLIN but their $3000.00 wth.. they come from Spain... so yea my question is...who is really copying who?
