As a cis/hetero individual who identifies strongly as an ally, my heart cracked open when August said he was "coming from a place of dual experience." That has to be one of the most brilliant and beautiful ways to acknowledge and embody the trans lived experience, and to honor and hold his partner in her trauma. For many of those of us who love men, we find that they struggle to understand SA from the survivor's perspective, or hold space for what it does to the psyche. August is a man who knows and understands the harsh realities feminine-presenting individuals face, because he presumably walked that path on the journey towards his truest self. Syd and August radiate love and acceptance as well as the human trepidation and joy and overwhelm universal to new parents. I wish them everything good!

They are such a beautiful couple and amazing parents… I’m over here in tears watching this. What a STRONG woman 💪🏽 with an amazing outlook! Beau is so lucky to have them as her parents!

A beautiful couple from the inside and outside. He looks like a super cute guy and she is just this beaming glowing beautiful angelic woman. This must have been such a challenging time for them as a couple, but for her to cope with possible abandonment and being judged for something she had no say in is just astonishing. The amount of strength and courage it must have taken.

Absolutely love that you have each other! Never lose your special connection, even when times get tough. We have a special needs child with a chronic illness too and we work hard at our relationship, which is not perfect but we know that ad long as we love and support each other we can get through the emotional up and downs we experience. Sending so much love from NZ. X
