Recently, I surpassed my 3 year ownership anniversary on my 2008 Corvette Z06! 🥳 And in celebratory spirit, I thought you might find it interesting to know what my monthly cost of ownership has been over that course of time. So join me as I briefly review my service records from the past 3 years and ultimately share a breakdown of what the cost of ownership has been for me to own my first supercar.

Especially coming from owning a bunch of German cars, it's been a good ownership experience!

Thanks for sharing and surprised that the parts and labor were so reasonable on these cars. Try talking to any Porsche 911 owner and your costs would be significantly higher which is a big reason Corvettes are a working man's sports car to me. Cheers and Regards!

Glad to share! And having owned Porsche's myself, I have experienced first hand exactly what you're talking about. Amazing cars but one definitely needs to be prepared for the maintenance expense.

I have an 07 ZO6 as far as the performance mods go it's a slippery slope. From what I've seen in your videos if I was you the only change I would make is to get the heads fixed. Once you start with the performance mods I don't think you'll get your money back I have Ali modded mine but plan to keep it and just add to my collection in the future
@TexasRealEstate
@TexasRealEstate 4 жыл бұрын
I appreciate the input! Yeah you're right... To me it would definitely be worth doing the mods if a possible resale wasn't on the near horizon. Regardless, I definitely believe I'll have a C6 Z in my collection for many years into the future. Love these cars!

Oh nice! Love these cost to own vids. My cost to own has been different, but I decided to get 'go-fast' parts added. However if i left it stock, it is very identical to your cost to own per year with one exception. I had a leak in my rear diff. The seal had to be replaced which cost about $400.
@TexasRealEstate
@TexasRealEstate 4 жыл бұрын
Good to hear your costs have been similar, minus the added performance you opted for. And $400 for something unforeseen doesn't seem so bad, coming from the perspective of having owned a few German cars where surprises all too often clear a grand. 😅

@@TexasRealEstate I have never been to the Cars and Coffee here in Austin. Been wanting to go for a while now. I had thought about going whenever there were being held at The Oasis, but just haven't made it out or a commitment with the family took precedence.

@@srvmotoman Family first! Would be cool to get together with another JSB Z06 or two for a car show like that and get them lined up together. I don't think I've ever been at a car show short of Corvette Invasion where there was another JSB Z06 present. Rare color for the Z06... Austin is about an hour and a half away for me but I definitely plan on going one day in the future!

Thank you Ricky, I appreciate your support! And awesome! I think you can't go wrong with the value of these cars long term. And a C8 Z06 would be epic as well, I can't wait to learn more about what those are like when they're out. I could definitely see myself picking one up in the years ahead as well.

Are you still going to address the heads?
@TexasRealEstate
@TexasRealEstate 4 жыл бұрын
I think it's more likely that I'll get a ZR1 within the next year than move forward with the heads and anything else on my list. Got a couple of other items ahead of that on my priorities list for the next few months so we'll see how that pans out - but you'll definitely see the update hear either way. 😃

Why would you consider performance upgrades. You don't work on your own car, you don't race it and you barely drive it. No, it doesn't surprise me that the CoO is low, you don't drive it. Thank good for guys like you though. You hold on to the car till someone that really wants it can buy it from you.

RBFCU. Local credit union, typically your local credit unions will have the best rate. That was 5 years ago though. Rates will all be higher today, across the board.
