a tip for drawing anime eyes, work on both eyes at the same time. that way in the end both will come out relatively the same. most people work so long on one eye and make it look good, but then stress out trying to make the other eye the same

I remember watching this guy back when I was 12 in 2008. I gave up on drawing pretty quick because I wasn't very patient. But now I'm taking an art class and watching his videos again and it's nice to remember when. You're awesome, Markcrilley.

I just finished the Miki Falls manga series about an hour ago and I have to say... I've never cried so much just because of a manga series. Towards the end of the last book, I was to happy but in the middle of the last book so many emotions (mostly anger and sadness) surrounded me. I was aggravated and mad and sad, I just started beating the book against my couch. >.

Wonderful artwork, Mark! Don't you think that having the pupil shifted to the left inside the iris of the Manga eyes helps with the illusion of the eyes looking back at you? After all, the realistic eyes have the advantage of drawing the entire eye and having the iris occluded within the shape of the eye delineating the turned back look.

Mascara for eyelashes, Eye Liner for outlining the eyes, think of Goths, Eye shadow is the coloured powder that usually goes above the eye. I would point out something about the realistic eye though. Women pluck, some remove and draw on thier eyebrows too, in the case of the manga eyes, the eyebrows are more likely what a real woman is aiming for when she makes herself up.
@Timae79 жыл бұрын
Purple Fantum All true and yeah his eyebrows looked off to me too, a woman who wears that much eye makeup would definitely pluck her brows

I'm sure you covered it in your older facial expressions video, but it might be interesting to see you attempt to do realistic facial expressions. Many of the facial expressions that work in a manga or cartoon style don't really represent how eyebrows work in reality, such as eyebrows on an upset face.

Usually anime eyes only show edges where the eyelashes are and where the ducts aren't, but ONE's whoever is an exception to this. (in the original webcomics and Saitama's manga/anime appearance as well as Mob Psycho 100'S whole anime cast with a few exception of characters)

Double eye folds are a desirable beauty trait on Asian women. Some women go as far as having cosmetic surgery to create the double eye fold if they were born without it. For women who cannot afford the surgery, they actually sell a special 'double eyelid' tape (yes, tape) for a temporary look. I prefer the double eyelid look. In manga/anime I really never noticed it.

One of my downfalls of realistic eyes are how the iris' are positioned and eyelashes. I kind of go how my eyelashes are, they are extremely long and thick and dark, but they face in slightly different directions. Even my bottom lashes, they are still thick and dark even towards the inward of my eye. So my lashes are pretty different lol. I pretty much mastered everything else.
