Wow! I love that you were raised in a cattle ranch. I am a mother of eight and we are doing a mass exodus out of San Francisco didn't hear my whole life anyhow we bought a house in a small suburban farm town as well as 5 acres up in the mountains and my new neighbors are gonna be cows I can't wait I'm sure I can learn so much from you!

Sheila McDade in Chattanooga, TN here . . . I have a thrifty craft to share with you-- I made a barn square using an old piece of plywood that I found in our shed. [The history of American barn squares can be tracked back almost 300 years to immigrants from Europe!] The one I made is about 3 feet square. I googled "barn square" and found a design I liked. Then sanded the wood and sealed it with a white base coat of paint. Then penciled my geometric design on it and painted it with 4 colors. Frog Tape made it so easy to paint straight lines. I emailed a picture of it to the Frog Tape company, and they put it on the front page of their company-wide monthly newsletter! How cool is that? For your FARM HOUSE/ENGLISH COTTAGE style instead of using bright colors you could do white, grey, green and natural wood and then age it with one of your techniques. It would be cute on your porch, garage, or even as wall art if it is a smaller version. I put mine on our shed and made another for my back porch. I just started looking at your youtube videos and can't stop! I am homebound right now with an injury and you are filling my days with ideas! THANKS. P.S. I wish I could join your Bible study class. I am painting walls and have been in the antique business for 40 years. I love to hang my art, although I need your help…so I will sign up for assistance I so desperately need to pull together lovely gallery walls. This couldn’t have come at such more precious time. I have so much art and reluctant how to achieve the look. Thank you! I’ll sign up tomorrow and I can’t wait to learn what I’ve put off for many decades. 😊

I'm with you on the cow prints. I grew up on my Grandparent's dairy farm. My job was to help round them up at milking time. I see these days sheep and cow prints are pretty popular.

I agree,I love the God bless our home❤. It would be my center piece for the gallery wall if it was mine. I like all your items you thrifted and plan to use. The antique maul was awesome,I saw a lot I would have liked. Take us thrifting again.😊

Somehow I new you were going to take that cow painting! I would’ve too. When I first bought my house I had a farm theme. Cows, pigs, chickens and roosters. Now it’s just roosters.

Loved watching you creat your picture wall. So interesting your cow story of being raised on a cattle farm. When I was a little girl my pony Honey got loose & ran down highway "99", I bet you know about this road since you're near Seattle, and survived. My family then got acreage & moved after that experience. But we loved country living & I do still to this day. It's so great to have your stories on the walls. This is kindof funny but what I liked best of your displays there was that brush & it's expanded bottom. It just looked chewy. I don't think I've told you this before but your cite is so inspireing

Today's video is very serendipitous! Our house was built in 1910 and used to sit on a dairy farm. It must have been so loved because when the farmland in this area was divided to become a residential area, this house was sitting in the middle of what is now a main street. It was moved to its current location about a block and a half away from its original location in 1979. I hadn't thought of placing a picture or some element to honor its past. Thank you for the inspiration! Note: OMG...I live in Portland but was born in Michigan!
