I love your imperfectly perfect table top. It coordinates with the imperfect shape of the hearth across the room. And when James eventually moves out you will still have the table top he cut for you in shop class. It will always be a reminder of him. I think adding antiques and thrifted item are not supposed to be perfect just add character. Stay Safe and Have a Blessed Week.

Me opening containers every single day!!! Funny story. I have the same ruggable as a hallway rug. I have had it a while. Just yesterday our adult daughter was visiting. Her shoes were off. She told me the rug felt like silk! We have a walk through room, it used to be a dining room. The previous owners enclosed a porch and gave us a beautiful sun room which holds our dining table, and created this walk through situation. We extended our kitchen into the awkward space, simply with furniture. The smaller wall area holds our spinet piano. We love that since it keeps all music in the center of our home and living space.

I think now the table has a story to tell and will be passed down one day. Sometimes perfection is what makes the piece perfect with the few flaws. Oh, the love of a son to cut that for his mom. Please never change it. That is what a home is. Stories and perfect imperfections. Love marks and love dents, Love scratches and whoops. It like the awe moment in a movie but it is real life. Touches the heart and gives a memory. Peace!

I absolutely love how everything looks!! I love the table and the art work on your walls is dreamy. I bought the recliners right after I watched your video using shoe polish to age them. My husband put the casters on but I haven't tried the shoe polish yet....I bought the 2 colors you suggested but haven't gotten around to it. My husband has never had a recliner but he loves them and it makes my heart happy to see him actually sit down. He's such a hard worker and he deserves to relax. Thank you for such inspirational videos.

As soon as I saw you washing that cast iron base I was like , Oooooh, she’s going to be sorrrrry! NEVER wet cast iron. If it gets wet dry it and put it in heat to make SURE it’s dry. To get rid of rust, use a wire brush and some Naval Jelly. Works every time. Good luck.

....This has to be one of my favourite episodes. ....So many things look like " it's supposed to be there" ... I don't comment often, even though I'm subscribed ( was led to your Channel by Pine and Prospect Home, I adore her Channel) and thank you for taking us on your quests and adventures. Lol. I am a big fan of recliners as long as they don't look like a recliner and you know what I'm talking about so those actually look wonderful my recliners gave out so yes I am on the search for a few and of course a matching pair and when I saw yours I thought ...." hmmmm I may have to get those..." ,lol. And what a nice thing to have that table cut ,your son doing that... what a cherished memory and to know that he did that ....that is just so neat. Good job , he should feel a sense of accomplishment. ...even if not " perfect " it's a wonderful thing. That lamp. Love love love. I change my rooms up quite often, and I move my furniture around , I move my Decor around ... I just think that you know sometimes you have to do that in order to get the look that you actually are comfortable with and that you're feeling as soon as you walk into the room.... You say - and feel - " Yes, ... this is this is what I was aiming for.... " 😊🙂✨️💛🍂🍁🧡 Thank you for this Inspiration and the way you filmed it.

Oh my. Absolutely love how this room turned out. Cozy and functional. I am seriously thinking about those recliners. We, too, had the fabric wingchair recliners and I loved them. However, we live in hot Florida and also had a cat that loved the chairs too much. She was part Siamese and had an oily coat. Anyway, I hated that we always had sheets on those chairs, finally took them off, regretted that, and was not going to tackle slipcovers. These chairs would be perfect. Thank you, Sara, for showing how to put together a beautiful room and most importantly, that designers also struggle. Gives the rest of us some hope.

I love this video!!! Your resilience and problem solving restored my faith in my own challenges decorating my home to reflect my vision. When you took out the product for your cast iron table you made me feel good as I always try to work with what I have first and I applaud your resourcefulness!!!! The end result is beautiful, filled with meaning and perfection in the small imperfection. The table top to me is perfect as it will always be a reminder of your son’s help to make your vision reality. This is priceless!!! Now it motivates me to carry on with my own project that at times frustrates me when I can’t achieve the look I have in mind for our English cottage in Laurentides Québec!!! 😊

Rust Restore or any rust converter spray paint is sold by all major brands: Krylon, Rust-oleum, etc. and is easy to use. I leave as is for a matte look, sometimes. Don’t let rusty items sit outside when damp- dry and bring in overnight. Inside I’ll dry and oil metal items if not painting or finishing. For the table, send it back to “ Woidshop” not Construction class. I’d paint that top black after shellacking. Then ask woodshop to make a thick wood top, or salvage one to leave wood tone. You made it work beautifully. Kudos!
