You should hit some of the pot holes here in Maine. You're guaranteed to nearly lose a tire, wheel bearing and maybe even your gas tank. Those are the better ones. yeah if you play the demo yourself you will fast find out that it much more than just a anno clone(which to be honest would be enought for me) for example regarding to the tooltip(because it is not included in the demo) there is also a lucid dream phase which is influence by your devotion (the resource splatt got when he didnt know what he got from the event) and every cullstist count later on you have to sacrifice them but they also gain lvls and work better so have to decide what you want or need

the problem with most city builder games is exactly that, they are basically the same but with different aesthetics, they don't really try to innovate much mechanically. when I saw this game I was actually hopping it would be a cult management game with city building as a secondary aspect.

One thing that gets me about these kinds of games is that Cthulhu isn't evil. Cthulhu isn't good. Cthulhu is older than the concepts of good and evil, and so utterly alien as to be undefinable by human understanding. It's not even like Cthulhu tries to drive people insane. It just happens as a result of a human mind trying to comprehend the incomprehensible.

I'm glad splatty didn't have much for frame rate issues. When I played the demo I had to turn all the graphics to minimum and still had frame rate issues. On the discussion boards lots of other people did as well.

I finished the demo and unlocking the map and having other settlements around which you have to "convert" made this much more interesting, a couple of events suggests that there might me some story elements to this? That would be amazing and better yet if the story has multiple paths.

The juxtaposition of horrific and banal is pitch-perfect. That said, the game misses the mark in the atmosphere it's trying to create. It's like... Tropico with giant tentacle monsters. No cosmic horror anywhere that I can detect.

@@lordnelson7524 Yeah a progression similar to Empire Earth, caveman to space ships( for the sake of atmosphere we can cut it off at the 1930's) but with a pinch of Xcom, with a global scale aspect. You build under the sea as the deep ones then push out to land. Something similar to how Dominions does their R'yleh faction which is obviously cthulhu mythos inspired. Under water, spread your influence there and over land, spread madness ect.
