great tips. one thing im trying is to cut back on the amount of throw away plastics. Shampoo bars and things that can be refilled. little silicone jars ypu can refill from your regular size containers. its a little more "hassle" but saves some weight and less throw away. the clothes are great suggestions, but it depends on where youre going and what activities youll be doing. i need to pack for hiking in Peru next spring!

I'm just coming back from holiday in Italy and I managed to pack only a small bag, even if the weather was cold. People were surprised seeing me coming with such a small amount of clothes and having the right outfit combination for every occasion during Christmas time!😂🎉🎉

LOVE my Nomad Lane bento bag! It’s been on dozens of trips over the last two years as my personal bag, no questions asked. It fits under every seat. I’ve used it on US and international flights. When I’m traveling for 3-4 days, the Bento is all I take along with a tote bag. Great design. They have good discounts on holidays, especially Black Friday.

Enjoyed your recommendations. The UK airports are very strict about allowing only one quart size ziploc bag of liquids so you would need to combine the toiletry and liquid makeup bags. This is my biggest challenge so use contact case cells full of skincare and foundation rather than tubes.

You are gorgeous. I have the opposite idea of packing. I always pack a few things that are ready to be thrown away, like older underwear or tops I’m done with. I throw a few things out or donate to make room for new things I have purchased on my trip.

I did that on my two week trip which included several cities in Italy and a Mediterranean cruise. Space saving. At each place I stayed, I only threw out the underwear. I left clothes out with a note saying that it could be thrown out or donated.

In this case, for this video, I was trying to imagine what I would be doing and this was an imaginary trip to visit my aunt in San Diego for the weekend and some walking downtown. I have a dream of taking a thrifting trip to Paris, where I pack almost no clothes and come back with a lot!

Great video !! - I had looked at the Nomad Lane bags before but the color runs were limited so I passed. Looks like they have way more options now! Also I too use a fanny pack as a freebie by swinging it back under oversized shirts or a jacket/coat so the " 'Excuse me ma'am - your butt looks too big'... no one is going to do that" comment made me LOL.

Recently traveled and they had us remove jackets and the shirt I was wearing like a sweater. Also, they always have you remove all electronics, phone, tablet, computer, and put them in a bin. I keep my purse in my personal bag, with meds and important things. There's always a chance that the carryon overhead bag will need to be checked.😮😊

When I travel now, I pick a favorite bracelet, necklace, and earrings, and never take them off. No need for a travel pack, and I don’t lose things I don’t take off.

I’m similar, but I am double lobe pierced, so I wear the studs and bring a dangle for “going out.” I’ll have a few small, stacked bracelets and a simple necklace.

Thank you for this great video! I use this bag regularly along with a "Longchamps Le Pliage" expandable with shoulder straps. I am an older person, so I use luggage wheels with the "Nomad Lane Bento" bag, and put the "Longchamps" on top of it. I can pack easily for 3 or more weeks with this combination and never have to check a bag. The luggage wheels can either remain attached to Bento bag, or, be placed INSIDE the Longchamps bag. Since both bags are under the 22 x 14 x 9 dimensions, you will never have to check. As for makeup and shampoo, I love the "Trestique" brand of makeup, where everything is a crayon and does not need to go in liquids bag. I use solid bar shampoo and conditioner, moisturizer and hand cream. I cannot recommend this bag highly enough! Please show us more small travel wardrobe capsules. I love those.

I also have a neck pillow that holds a whole lot of clothing. When I fly it's usually a connecting flight and I am not losing my bag. However, I do bring a carry on. So, my total is a hip bag like you're showing, the "neck pillow" and a hardside spinning carry on.

I also love the decadent side… on that note, slipping a facemask and a foot mask treatment in is something I have begun to do. It feels decadent & relaxing after a long travel day. (I am not one for a mask on the plane & hyaluronic acid pulls moisture & when the air in the plane is dryer than your skin… that mask will have the opposite effect! Nice video. You’d need to put all the liquids from your makeup bag into the clear bag which might mean changing some of your other choices for that bag. (Your deodorant doesn’t need to be there if it’s a solid.)

I travel with a carryon (after several times having checked bags delayed) so I always appreciate ideas for how to pack and travel more efficiently. Scarves have been my go to. I noticed that you didn’t pack your lotions and liquids in one container/bag. Do you do that before going through security? I have precheck but smaller airports still want everything in one pack as they say they don’t have the scanning equipment needed.

I went to Europe from Sydney in July and August, and I packed so badly I hated myself! I took way too much, and it was so hot compared to Australia which I wasn't expecting, so I packed loads of things I didn't even wear. So next time I travel in may this year I'm going to pack way more carefully. And I might even buy a nice bag. I like your videos!

July August definitely summer in Europe. Best to have a travel outfit you can shed layers as you go and put them back on if returning to Australia in our winter. One of the main things I suggest is when you're travelling everything is new at your destination. Nobody will know if you've worn it in UK, France, Italy...on the holiday and many times at home. Best not to pack things you don't wear at home just because you might wear them on holidays. Take things you love and feel really comfortable and happy in. Enjoy your next holiday.

I have a comment on skin care. Trying something new that you bought because it was travel size may be nice or may be a disaster if you have a reaction to the product. I find packing tried and true products for skin care, makeup and hair care is safer and also cheaper (the travel sizes while cute are incredibly expensive!). Also, i assume you have TSA precheck but most regular people don't. So we have to keep all our liquids together and pull them out at the security checkpoint, in a bag that observes the 3-1-1 rule.

I dont do pre-check and I've never had an issue with the amount of liquid I bring. I am definitely on board with the idea that if you ever have a reaction to anything, you should not try new products on your trip! ❤️

I wonder what that fully packed bag weighed. The more compartments a handbag or tote bag has, the heavier it is empty, so will get even heavier when fully packed.

@@PoshPilgrim1776 You would think that the addition of all of these pockets and zippers would make it heavier, but it's a super light bag. The weight of the bag when it's packed depends on how many heavy clothes you bring. In this case, I packed jeans, so those were heavy, but all of the silk items were very light. And I didn't bring an extra pair of shoes.

Nice style! But, I could never do a personal item bag unless it was a backpack. I plan and pack like you-just use a small roller board. Also, I cannot justify the travel sling. I will take the old fashioned passport sling for international flights so that I don’t need to carry a purse to the restroom. Yes! 4 days of outfits is all that is needed!!! I must make room for running gear though.

We started traveling often a couple of years ago. I’ve watched hundreds of videos and learned so many travel hacks. Try to get a solid form of any toiletries you can so they don’t have to go in your liquids bag. Lush makes an amazing serum bar that works as a moisturizer, serum, eye/night cream. Kitsch sells a sample kit of their shampoo and conditioner bars. You can cut a small piece of a large shampoo bar, soap etc. Coming home through Heathrow in September they were very strict on the size of the liquids bag. If you didn’t have one they gave you one and made you transfer your stuff to it. Try using contact lens cases to fill with your cream cleanser, lotions etc. My last tip is I always take those vacuum bags you roll to squish air out of. They lay flat inside my suitcase lining. When we return I put all the dirty clothes in it and vacuum it flat. It doesn’t stink up my bag and I have more room for souvenirs! I must admit I’m extra with the clothes and shoes though. We usually fly 1st class so I don’t pay attention to how many bags I take but I commend you on being able to get it all in that size bag!! Bon Voyage!🛳️ ✈️

I should warn you that at the time of the shoe bomber (or was it the two liquids bomber?) crisis a few years ago when a one-carryon rule came into force, I did what you're suggesting here. I had one tote with my usual carryon stuff, and inside it a small cross-body to use on its own at my destination. Well, security wouldn't allow that. They said I had to choose between them, I couldn't have both. Insane, since the tote was well within the size limits and the cross-body was packed inside it, but no, to their blinkered way of thinking it was two bags and one had to go into the bin. I've rarely been so angry.

@lynnfox8376 The Bento bag is 17 x 8 x 10 inches. Ryanair seems horribly sneaky with this dimension requirement but theirs is 15.7 in x 7.8 in x 9.8 in like they want to get you at every turn. You can't find a bag that size. It's not nice. Always check your Airlines dimension requirements carefully!
