Yutapon cubes are in reference to Yutaka Nakamura, one of the greatest Japanese animator alive who made this technique popular and then was copied by a lot of younger animators. Great video, I'm subscribing! I can't believe I've never come across this channel before
@saitougin72108 ай бұрын
This all looks really awesome and all. And don't want to downplay that. Really awesome job there. Looks really cool. I'd like to see more of that. However, that the debris in anime is always just cuboids kinda bothered me. I know it is probalby easier to do with cuboids. But someone should just write an algorithm that creates debris as just some random geometric shapes so that it looks more realistic. That the debris is always breaking into cuboids looks so artificial. That was one of those tiny flaws that bothered me in the otherwise really awesome Naruto anime. Someone should just write such an algorithm that then everybody uses so that we can finally have somewhat realistic looking debris - instead of cubes. I mean, when was the last time you've seen something breaking into cubes? I mean apart of anime of cause, that apperently some people have already gotten used to so much, that they kinda expect it like that.
@watLegends7 ай бұрын
@@saitougin7210 I get where you're coming from this point of view, but I'd argue that Yutapon Cubes are simply a stilization choice. Anime isnt exatly looking to be realistic in its interpretation of destruction, we have things like impact frames and characters stretching and disfiguring their forms just to provide a different adaptation away from reality, and a lot more entertaining.

I made my own Rasen gun idea called RasenVortex, basically Rasen Vortex is distorted air fabric and distorted space matter turns into a vortex type and it sucks in all the matter, then if you hit the move it will make the ground, air, anythin suck into it (Ayo pause) for only 2 seconds then releases the energy and the matter it absorb and forces it away, even if nothing was sucked the energy is so powerful it makes a perfect crater with no cracks just a hole.

The good thing about modern anime for all the eager artists out there is that a ton of backgrounds are now just 3D renders instead of matte paintings. This saves a ton of time, as you can simply pan the camera to whatever the desired angle is, without needing to draw a new background for each shot; then you just add your 2D characters in the foreground. Faster, easier, cheaper, and better for collaborative efforts. Obviously it still takes time, but this saves a ton of work.

Hmm, the Rasengan didn't have that swirly form, also the swirls inside it are not moving. I am just a beginner in Blender, but let me give you 2 options that I could think of from the top of my head: 1. Use a Bezier curve maybe with a solidify modifier to make them into one of those blue swirls. Then use a screw modifier to replicate it around a center point. 2. Add a partical system to the ball with hair particles to get the swirls with a vortex forcefield added. I tried this out and played around a bit. I get the hairs to bend in direction of the ball when I activate "Self Effect" on the force field. Don't know why. Try it out if you like. Good luck

Interesting opinion. Maybe it’s because your a 3D animator but personally I’ve always liked the way 2D looks way more than 3D by a large margin. 3D has its difficulties in trying to make things look natural in its environment and if anything is off the whole thing tends to just look goofy but even when it’s all perfect and is a great product for its medium 2D just seems so much cooler to me and it feels right. 3D just always feels so limited to me while 2D can make anything happen and feel believable in its own world. That’s not to say I don’t like 3D just that I find 2D immensely more satisfying.

I just noticed something that I feel like you intentionally missed, the Rasengan itself isn't merely Rotating Around, it's Rotating Inward and Outward, Inward like a Black Hole, and Outward like it's Releasing Energy. You could've changed the "Energy being Pulled into it" to "The Energy is instead Rotating Around it, along with the Wind" and lastly, you could make a Drill like Wind towards the Direction where the Rasengan is being Trust Towards, so you could make those Wind Blades to only Curve when said Rasengan Moves, but not bounce around, but to slowly go back to merely be a Spinning Wind Blades.
