@HitAcademyTelevision - No - you are looking for an ethnic sample percussion library from the sounds of it. There are a ton of those for sale. RMX's kits are kick/snare/hat/tom/cymbal/side stick/clap kind of kits. There are actually only 8 slots total available for a drum kit.....

@AudioRedemption - yes you do :D You asked about effects - Make sure you Control Click above the top effect slot and you can choose to load a preset effect rack. There are a lot of different templates to choose from and you'll get the hang of what things do what really quickly this way. Have fun !!

Thanks for the reply. I've spent untold hours with RMX since 1.7 came out, and I can't believe I missed the "Parts" thing along the way to 1.8. I didn't mean to sound sarcastic earlier, it was kind of a WTH?, WTH?, WTH? moment. Thank you for the heads up. Very nice powerpack demo - a lot of work there -and the included "Parts" were inspiring.

Every actual loop in RMX is actually a lot of samples for each timing event. You can re-sequence them by playing on the keyboard if you want. With the sound menus and drum kits, you can of course play anything you want, any way you want. Hope this answers your Q.

@zunaic - the only way to get any audio into RMX is by using Recycle and then converting the Recycle files with Spectrasonics SAGE converter. That is the only door to get your own audio into RMX.

Hey there - yea this one is more an intro for people that have not seen or used Stylus RMX. Please remember that Spectrasonics does not provide a demo version of their plug-ins. So this introduces what you can do with RMX.... the next few are aimed at power users that own RMX. Hope you understand. To answer your q: A part = all parameters in the Edit, Effects, Chaos and Time Designer page. Not just the groove - try the Parts included with the demo pack to see what I mean.... :D

@NielsShoe - Dude I have no idea. They currently use their proprietary SAGE engine for Stylus RMX. STEAM is a more flexible engine to accommodate the much more complex synthesis required for keyboard sounds. I'd like to see more synth manipulation capabilities for a future version of Stylus RMX, however, it's not my decision..... :D

Not sure what you mean... RMX is a rhythm plug-in which has both loops as well as Drum Kits and Sound menus (tons of 1-hit samples across the keyboard). How you use it is up to you - but it doesn't have pianos, basses or anything keyboard related.....

RMX comes with a program called SAGE converter that will convert both older Akai and Roland versions of Spectrasonics and Ilio "Groove Control" Libraries as well as Recycle 2 files into native RMX format. I have 2 of these libraries ("Skippy's Big Bad Beats" and "Skippy's NoizBox") that are part of the Ilio Recycle expansion library. Get info at ilio [dot] com if you need more loops, or buy my BeatTropolis library from my site. :D

I fucking love Stylus RMX ..you can mix up all sorts of musical styles and it always sounds great. I love taking House, drum and bass and dubstep loops and slowing it all down to about 80 bpm, add a few strings and other synths and you got great chill out tracks. Awesome.

epli10 - that keyboard is part of Logic Pro's Environment. RMX doesn't have a keyboard in it's interface :D I used Logic to show the notes I was playing. That is helpful to some people, so I included it.

@NielsShoe - Spectrasonics has done what many companies do in giving their engine a cool name - they might or they might not use STEAM instead of SAGE in a future Stylus product, I have no idea. I kind of doubt it because part of SAGE is "Groove Engine" which is relevant to rhythm based production which is what RMX is all about..... either way, yes on the saving bit.

How are you? I went to the Sound Menu but NOT ONE SOUND POPS UP! The menu does but when I go to the sound there is nothing. The drop and drag window doesn't even have the sound name coming up in it. Do you know what that is?

That is part of Logic Pro - you can get the Environment of Logic Pro to show just a keyboard..... thought it would be helpful for seeing what notes I play when making the video.... ;p

Oh boy, you are welcome to your opinion, of course. RMX has been out for a while - musical styles have changed. DubStep didn't even exist nor did every pop song on the radio sounding like another 4 on the floor EDM soundalike! Smart use of the Time Designer, knowing how to use the Elements grooves in new ways and having an open mind will help you get your money's worth. ALSO, you can import ANY REX loops from anywhere - so it's only a waste if you don't find ways to use the tools...

You could click&drag out RMX Grooves as MIDI files - unfortunately, they are (in most cases) only a single note for each timing event (it's re-triggering samples from a drum loop). So you would have to be very creative in your programming to make it work. Easy answer = no.

My friend, you need to contact the great technical support team at Spectrasonics. They will gladly help you thru the process of figuring out what went wrong. I provide patches and instruction on how to use RMX but I'm not connected with Spectrasonics in any way other than supporting their awesome plug-in with programming enhancements.... good luck to you.

Stylus RMX has so many rhythms . But some of them are repeated and I would say %30 of this vst is really useable the rest of rhythms are JUNK with a lot of (a lot of) unnecessary noises blended to the rhythm . I just wasted my money .
