We don't have any tactics to fight JF17 bro. Recently PAF JF17 block2 shot down 6 QATARI Rafale with 2 losses at the Turkish air games 2021. Astra r77 iderby all can be defeated. No weapon is 100% fool proof.

@Shyam just search Anatolian league 2021 happened in Turkey where all islamic nations practised. PAF JF17 block2 had a spar with Qatari Rafale. It seems that Pakistan is very interested to learn how Rafale performs. Pakistan practises with China to learn about su30 performance and now with qatar to gain intelligence. For india to know about JF17 block2 we don't have any neutral countries using JF17 so we don't have experience fighting JF17 untill we see one in combat. That's the advantage PAF have over IAF.

We will rarely see close combat now a days. The greatest advantage of su30mki is its payload. It is like f15 of us. Once we improve all the aspects of su30, it can be excellent aircraft supporting smaller radar cross section aircraft like Rafael. With improved data link, Rafael can send data to su30mki, which can fire it's BVR guided by Rafael. I feel we need atleast another 36 Rafale. And this is also the reason behind us purchasing more f15ex as it would support f35 n f22. Deploy su30,Rafale n mig29 in LAC. Deploy Tejas n mirages in loc.

Even with good bvr missile , su30mki has become a second line fighter for us , that is why in mmrca we are looking for different aircraft from european or american platform . ….. su30mki can carry lot of weapons perform air superiority missions …. But when it come to covert mission like balakot or air strike mission rafale , mirage and Tejas will be chosen . IAF needs to support tejas mk2 because its their necessity ….

With so many SU 30 mki s in the IAF if we don't have a BVR missile which can neutralize a target at 110-120 km distance then it will always remain a problem. Visual range dogfight is a very unlikely scenario now. Besides, serviceability of SU 30 mki is always a question.

Exactly, with only skirmishes expected and not a all out war, the need is very good BVR capability. Enemy can spot and track MKI from a long range due to its big RCS and if they also have a long range missile they surely have the upper hand. Even though MKI has a powerful radar, it has to go closer to fire its medium range BVR missiles and at this ranges it is very vulnerable with its big RCS. Only way to have advantage in BVR is Low RCS, Powerful radar and Long range missile. If you have large RCS then the radar and missile should compensate for it.

Very good information. However there are few points which need to be addressed. Sukhoi Su 30 MKI is a 4th generation aircraft whereas Rafel, LCA are 4.5+ generation aircrafts and accordingly their capabilities differ. Su 27, Su 30 (baseline), Su 30 MKK don't have composites but Su 30 MKI has 30% to 45% composite. Secondly under Vetrival program india used Russian, French and Israeli sensors and indian components. Su 30 MKI has very good BVR capabality and they can defeat any 4 and 4+ generation aircrafts in BVR. In air exercises carried out with USAF, French and UK air force, Su 30MKI came on top. It is not sitting duck as you claim to be. But with modern aircrafts like Rafels, F15EX, F22, F35 it has problem due to AESA radars on them. In our Super Sukhoi program this lacuna will be addressed. @ Saie corp rightly said most of the technologies in su-30 mki are late 1990's technology even n-011 bars was one of the most powerful conventional pesa radar at that time, Israeli lightening pod, Israeli ew suite, french sagem navigation suite, DRDO tarang friend or foe identification systems all that that point of time when it was inducted were all top of line, whereas rafale which was inducted in 2020's has most of them beyond 2010 technologies, so technology gap is bound to be there between su-30mki and rafales, I think super sukhoi along with longer range bvr missiles will make su-30 mki as effective as the present version of iaf rafale

IAF conducts war games with not only US, UK and France but Singapore, UAE, Saudi, and many other AFs who have latest aircrafts in their arsenal and most of times Su 30MKIs have bitten them, including F16, F18s.
