In this DCS World Simulator video I'm in the SU35 Flanker trying to use Hypersonic missiles to deny the JAS39 Gripev situational awareness in a BVR fight, thanks to Gainful for the help, Hope you guys enjoy!
I love playing simulators, I started with Arma 3 and then I saw DCS World. I also enjoy War Thunder , Battlefield , Ghost recon, Squad , Rome total war, Microsoft Flight Simulator and more. I also enjoy World War II games including il-2 In DCS World i found all the jets that i wanted to fly in a simulator the F 16 Viper , FA 18 Hornet , F 15 Eagle , A 10 Warthawg , SU 27 , Mig 29 , P 51 , Spitfire , AH 64 Apeche , Heuy and more... And if you will download MODs the options are endless: F 22 Raptor, SU 57 , A 4 Skyhawk , SR 71 Blackbird , Rafale, Gripen and the list goes on.

Some of your latest BVR tactics are new and innovative. Like your dive and going back up again to break lock and going offensive so quickly. Not as much notching and going cold. Now you go sneaky, radar off and flanking the Flanker. One day I'll understand missle choices for first contact. The best,fastest and longest ranged that rarely hit the target. Only to send them defensive. Great strategy but would any other missle do or can the bandits radar detect what you launch ? Just asking, not being critical. I love learning how you come up with these new tactics and watch you implement them. Sometimes....whew, you are a wild risk taker, bro ! Love it all !

Awesome video, Longshot. I would love to see both you and GS scramble into BVR dogfights where the opponent and their armaments are a total mystery. Perhaps there are realistic scenarios thst would allow an aggressor to bypass the warning radar and mask movements from satellite that might allow an enemy force to get inside defense systems and penetrate territory. Basically, the idea is to have as many unknown variables introduced in as realistic a scenario as possible incorporating both BVR and BFM elements.

The flankers are sneaky. Whats bogging me is that if you was in range at first for the meteor it should been on its way and guided from the awacs. I guess that in dcs it wont work that way. Good that you picked up the flanker again. 👍

Nah, you could definitely see both (or very close to it) at an airshow. Plenty of allies fly in for airshows. The Indian Air Force runs a bunch of SU's, etc.

The sneaky infrared mountain ghost flanker that is Longshot one again clinically shows why stealth tactics and sneaking and doing emission control - actually do let you pop up on an enemy Longshot, if he'd had Fox 2's could have ganked his opponent from behind with IR shots only lol The only counter would have been the gripen going after longshot's AWACS, or failing that ,staying super low in the mountains with his own radar off and trying to use his own IRST to pop up IRST blast longshot. Probably could have stayed in the valleys to get past longshot, then do a mad dash for longshot's AWACS, then disappearinto mountains with IRST only to make it a sneaky duel, sub hunt style- But he'd have to realize what was going on ,and why Longshot wasn't where the gripen thought he was

You need to start stringing a few of your videos together and make a complete from scramble to return with multiple pilots and do a full on story. Say a 3 day attack on an area and defense or 3 day attack where you are the aggressor. I love the whole scenario setup and shown like a story or movie is a big draw. Next would be to invite some of the other dcs pilots as the aggressor as well as the defenders and have everyone save what they can and turn it over for a full on show. Love these keep em coming!

Hi Longshot! It'd great if you say what version of the Gripen is flying on each mission, since Gripen E is far more advanced version than Gripen C or D, just like the F-16 A is a lot less capable than F-16 C Block 50.

It begs the question of whether fighter v fighter bvr is even worth it? Against AWACS it certainly is effective but modern fighters seem to be able to lock break and evade with relative ease, leading to a visual range dogfight.

Can anybody help me? I have the same mod, su-35, but when i trying to choose something different from vanilla missiles(77 and 73 are only option), other armament, like axehead missile, doesn't show up, they're invisible Tested in 2.8 and 2.5.6

you probably have a mod that's interfering with it (e.g. MiG-31 mod for R-37M or Su-30 mod for R-77M)

While you using EO & turning off the radar, why dont u use R-27ET instead R-77? 🤔 R-27ET is IR guided missile with maximum range of 90 to 95 km, maximum altitude of 30km and effective killing distance of ~40km. I think missile combination should be 2xR-73E for visual range fight, 6xR-27ET and 2xR-37M hypersonic weapon for AWACS, Bomber, EW aircraft or spy aircraft.

Those planes are all mods, most stuff is classified... If at all I'd say SU57 was under performing. I highly doubt that plane is worse then any Flanker build in Russia

These are the two things I like about the SU-35. 1. It's a missile truck. 2. The light blue color scheme. The Gripen should've been packing all Meteors. The AMRAAM is a good missile but if I had to pick between the two, I would go with Meteor twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, four weeks a month, twelve months a year.
