The Samuel Griffin (SG) was definitely not a diss. Haymer said that he learned a lot from Griff, just like many other directors did. TxSU will most likely dedicate a show to Griff as well being that their band director, Clarence Gibson, marched under Griff while he was at Alcorn. SOD's tribute will most definitely come at Homecoming so people saying that, "Alcorn should've dedicated their show to him" sound ridiculously stupid.

I must admit I was thoroughly entertained by both the Golden Girls AND the Dancin Dolls. Neither dance line was any better than the other; both lines came prepared for this game. If this were an actual competition, it would've been very hard to choose an actual winner. Great job to both the Golden Girls AND Dancin Dolls...!

Glad they created a new halftime show. It was just okay nothing really special here. My only critique with SU's halftime drills are they take too long to change into formation or create a new pattern (they march in single block lines for a while and they visual impact gets kind of lost). Both halftime shows were just okay, Alcorn had a slightly better one.

I don't think the audience got the diss... crowd didn't really respond too much. When it got to whatever they were spelling and them playing Mr. Biggs (Alcorns song) the diss lost steam... it seemed very familiar to what Jackson did to grambling last weekend. Solid show southern, but I guess from all the hype up from October 1rst I was expecting more than this performance. Seen the L drill quite a bit from haymer and company over these few years. It's a legendary drill but when over used can become redundant.... the samuel griffin tribute was a nice touch and the dolls were solid.

Gretchen King he was one of alcorns legendary beloved directors that past away this past year. God rest his soul.

David Johnson He became director of bands in 1969 & he didn't retire until 2012, that's when Dr. Murray took over as director of bands. Griff is the reason that the bands is called The Sounds of Dyn-O-Mite, before that the band was a very small band called the Band of Distinction. The dancers were dressed like drum majors & twirled batons instead of actually dancing. He was the creator of the Golden Girls & everything that is S.O.D.
