I usually don't like remakes of much. Either someone throws in something weird to 'make it theirs' or just does a pure, practiced, canned 'copycat'.. and then, what's the point? But here, wow... something for everyone, great horns, vocal, pure as ever (and why not, that's him, then and now). True respect for the original and dressed up with class for a 'session' type of 13 minute song! Mahalo!!
@timc363910 жыл бұрын
thanks Frank- ya, you know, I am an avid photographer. Sometimes after I'm photographing something really amazing, I get a sense that I was there, but not really there- removed from allowing ALL of my senses to enjoy and take in the experience / event. (that really sucks!) So, thanks so much for recording this, even though you may have felt that same way! Just wish this group would make its way out to the Midwest. Impossible to find out (in time) where to see / hear / take in music festivals like this... peace

Not bad, but I prefer Richard Bean's slower, velvety smooth version that he did with Malo. There are a number of 70's Latin ballads that will never fade away, including this song, Santana's "Samba Pa Ti", and Los Lobos "Sabor A Mi".
@richvarela96365 жыл бұрын
Adding hard rock guitar play to a soft rock easy listening song messed this up.... Tell Jimmy hernandez hendrix to cool out. Unless that's called for..
@steveng896410 жыл бұрын
The best version of this song is the original version that MALO played in the 70s homie, any one that covers this songg shouldn't even attempt it.
@gonzaloleon-gelpi91517 жыл бұрын
Not a bad version, however, it strikes me as crowded, the players' parts bumping into each other, almost like a wall of sound, which means that it is not clear. Also, the thematic variations and interloping pauses and transition to the central theme are somewhat incongruent. This version is definitely inferior to those of Malo and Mystique.

This is the wrong guitar player for this song, he'd be great in a heavy metal setting tho. This song is too soulful for all those notes he's throwin.
