Sub 20 parkrun Attempt

After looking back at my timing I think that 19:26 is correct. I was 25 seconds ahead of my target time when I came back through the flood gate and 34 seconds under 20 by the end. Meaning I ran from the flood gate to the end in 1:43 which is probably about right considering the final sprint that I managed to put in.
I also forgot to mention that I reached the cycle path sign at (I think) 14:42 on the way back.

Great stuff, well done 😁 I've got a video from last year where I paced my dad (53 at the time) to his first sub 20 I've managed sub 20 on a flat course since my injury but I'm yet to do it at hilly Camperdown. I'm close though, and getting fitter. I reckon next time I'm there I'll manage it 🤞

Good job. It's weird on camera, 19:30 doesn't look very fast watching this video. At 7:00 it just looks like everyone is out for a morning stroll. But when I try and do it it feels much much faster.

Thank you 😀 yeah I feel like the camera is a bit deceptive when it comes to pace. It also tends to make hills look a lot flatter than they really are!

Well done pal but sorry to tell you you’ve put on odd trainers this morning 😅, always good to get in a race with a few people at parkrun it makes you push more than just running yourself with a big gap in front and behind you

Hi, thanks for the concern. I have sent the video to the guys and am willing to change things if they wanted me to (the response I have so far has been positive). They seemed happy enough to be filmed at the time with them making comments about filming their good side, waving at the camera, asking that I film them as they finished etc. Also the results are all publically available so every participant's name, age group, times and past events can all be accessed by anyone. Still, I know that not everyone would be happy with this sort of thing so I do genuinely appreciate the concern, hope you enjoyed the video 🙂

I don’t think it’s a huge deal, no harm done I’m sure, just personally would be a bit miffed if someone post my face and name online without explicitly asking. Enjoyed the video anyway, good run 👍
