Make sense. I wanted to add a prop guard for safety for both human and drone

I’ve been wondering myself on this issue about flying over people must have propeller guards on. Well that puts them all over 250g. That’s the only reason I’m holding off on buying a drone. Great topic glad u made it public to start the issue at hand.

Sounds like a great idea. Drone still 249gr or below with an allowance of x # of grams for safety related add ons. Strobes, propeller guards, trackers etc.

The solution is to use the Mini 2 battery used in Japan, then it is lighter, then there is room (50 grams) for your safety features.

OK...but what's wrong with my idea? The problem with using the batteries they use in Japan is that 1. They're not available here... and 2. They don't give you as long a flight time...the flight time is not something most people would want to give up.

@@CreatewithTech I have 2 Drones, a Mini 2 and an Evo 2. I use the Mini when I cannot get permission from Nav Canada to fly my Evo. The sub 250 gram class is to be treated as a stepping stone for learning and then you have a choice of getting a bigger one or staying within the 250 gram limit. As much as I do not agree with some of the things that Transport Canada does and their tests leave something to be desired, they are the regulator. There is an election in Canada right now, talk to your political candidates and get them working for you! My Mini 2 is not modified in any way, but my Evo 2 has 3 Foxfury collision lights in an Autel manufactured holder for the lights and they work very well.

How about, if someone says your drone is too heavy and wants to weigh it, you take off all the extras and weigh it showing that it is under 250?
@CreatewithTech3 жыл бұрын
I've never had anyone come up and say that my drone is too heavy...also, we're talking about a minimal amount of added weight...my landing gear and gimbal guard put my mini 2 over the 250g threshold, but they don't weigh very much...probably no more than 20g in total. My point in this video is that by having some flexibility to go a bit over 250g will actually make flying the drone safer in that people generally want to add things like LEDs or prop guards. Right now, doing so puts the drone in a whole other category, which is silly.

Another link I also saw for windy conditions which I want to share with all of you : kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHvIfqWEhbyknrM even at 50 km/h

For sub zero conditions like -2 but not lower than say -5 here' s a link kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmimmKWYf66laMk for windy conditions use the Sport mode, limit is 50 km/h not higher.

You never addressed all of the people who build their own drones, that have to abide by the 250 Gram limit

This is funny. You want a special rule so you can add more stuff to your quadcopter? Be happy you can fly it at all thanks to the Academy of Model Aeronautics. Join a group, make your own. Be safe!

This wasn' t against you, the finesaren' less than 1000 through 5000$ actually thank you for opening my eyes, it's this stupid vague 900.06 law that confuses more than clarifies, when I want to take off from a provincial or municipal park, the dji mini 2 can be taking off from yhe palm of our hand like a butterfly, now my point is I did buy this stuff to pleasure my small family for great souvenirs, shall I need to ha ve a permission of a superintent and I assume this has to be written as you need to show it when asked by a law enforcement, this isn't a control tower while you're taking off while seated in a chopper, so we need more details as to how to proceed ?
@CreatewithTech2 жыл бұрын
Hi There...I do understand your concerns, but honestly I've been flying for years and I've never had a law enforcement officer ever question me or give me a hassle. While the law is vague the best way to proceed is to fly safely and you'll probably be fine. It would be a shame for you to give up flying if you've got a passion to do so. RG

Fair enough, so basically Canada is preventing me to fly all drones, I will get a refund for my best buy bought DJI Mini 2 drone, was so passionate to fly drones not because of flying drones, hell no !, what CARS basically don' t see in drone flyers is that many of them are photography fans, I have a Nikon D90, I did pretty much everything from fish eye to Macro, hell I was thinking of Air photography and video making. Now all this ruined my passion fro drones, now I hate drones because they just don't make sense in Canada they actually do in the USA, when you have to watch over your shoulder for over zealous law enforcement officers my friend ! there is no point of owning a drone like If I can't take air shots and videos of the Mont royal and getting restricted for these spaces, what' s the point of having one I will take my boomerangs to the municipal parks stadiums and fly those, at least I will exercise, to hell with all drones.

I didn't make this video to turn anyone off flying a drone. It's a great hobby, and if you're a photographer it's a great way to get some amazing photographs and video. The point of the video was to make people aware that if you fly a sub 250g drone you still need to abide by some rules. These small drones are not a complete free for all. I would not give up on flying a drone, just be aware and be careful. You can still get some amazing videos and have a hell of a lot of fun. RG
